Sketchy Saturday with Pattern Happy and MFT

Welcome to another Sketchy Saturday

I have been making a few alcohol cards lately, would you believe me if I said I don't drink?!  I don't but sometimes these types of cards are fitting for a recipient.

I have used some papers from Pattern Happy along with new stamps (Martini Time, Spirited Sentiments )  and dies (Martini Time) from MFT, which just arrived and I had to play!

The sentiment (which is supposed to be at the bottom according to the sketch 😏) was a bit too long so I cut it in half and mounted it on foam squares... as is the glass.

A super simple but fun card, don't you think?

Would love to see your take on the sketch:

Get Well Soon

Feeling a bit sorry for myself as I have been sick all week.  Darn sinus pain and feeling crappy.  On the plus side, I have had more sleep this past week than I ever get and without doing my running.... my bursitis is getting better 😉

Anyways, it made me create a couple of simple get well cards... as you never know when you might need one.

I used the Case of the Blahs by Pinkfresh Studio - aptly named don't you think.

First up, a very simple one... I used some dies from MFT (Bedside Comfort).  The kleenex box is mounted on foam squares for some dimension.

Playing along with the Fusion challenge.... I went with the sketch:

Next up, I used more MFT dies (Bedside Comfort) and paired them up  with the Comfort Food stamp from PTI (which has been in my stash for awhile and this is the first time inked...)

To add some interest, the frame is mounted on foam squares.

Inspired By... floral clusters with Carta Bella

A new Inspired By challenge is up and it is another pretty one.... I might... note I said might try to sneak in a layout inspired by it but we are heading out camping so I'm not sure.

Anyways, I used some Spring Market paper by Carta Bella along with my favorite die... chicken wire.

The flower clusters were fussy cut from the pattern paper, but other than that, everything else was pretty easy peesy!

Here is the inspiration photo:

Pretty hey?.... now I would love to see your take on it... and be sure to see what amazing things the DT have done! (click on photo)

You only live once

Two things made this card come together...

First I received my order from SugarPea Designs and had to use the LondonScape die right away!  Second, I saw the sketch at Fab Friday and it was perfect 😊

I used some Authentique Paper and inked up my very neglected PTI stamp sets, which I have had since they came out and this was the first time using them!

I stamped the sentiments from the City Scene Sentiments.  I then attached the LondonScape.  Finally I stamped and cut out the bus from the City Scene stamp set and mounted it on foam squares.

Now what inspired the card to begin with?  Well my youngest daughter.  In about a month she is moving to London to Au Pere for a year and perhaps longer.  She will be doing her Sociology degree online while there.  Yes, she is the one who a couple of years ago left for Vietnam and then a working stay in Australia.  She has been home for about a year planning..... and this is her next adventure.  Before starting her job in London she will be staying with some friends and traveling around Germany for a couple of weeks!

I just may have to write a little note in the card and tuck it in her suitcase.... we are proud of her.

Here is the sketch:

Sip, sip hooray!

A quick post today.  I have been sick since Friday - disappointed to miss a 10K run on Sunday and missed a pro day yesterday!  I hope to feel better soon.  I mostly relaxed/slept yesterday but did manage to create a card.

I used the Color Me, Geofetti and Robots Pattern Paper from Pattern Happy along with a beer stamp from SU!  The Cheers die and the Sip, Sip, Hooray stamp (Spirited Senitments) are from MFT and the Clink, Clink die is from Technique Tuesday.  I mounted the top mug on foam squares.

Playing once again with my sketch

Mindful Monday - Scent

Welcome to the second Mindful Monday challenge.  What is Mindful Monday?  well... it is explained here, but in a nutshell, documenting simple things that just make us happy.  I think it is important to take the time to be mindful and just appreciate what we have, and the simple and amazing things that surround us in our daily lives.

This week's prompt is...scent

what does that mean to you?  coffee?  the scent of the air after the first spring rain? a perfume? .... I would love to hear your simple pleasure of scent.

For me... hands down - lilacs.  I LOVE the scent of lilacs!  I could stand and sniff them all day.  I have planted a few shrubs around my yard and of course always bring in some clippings to sit at my desk.  Unfortunately the clippings... and the bushes themselves are too short lived for my liking but I'll take what I can get.

I have used the Flower Market collection from Carta Bella for some accents.  I couldn't bear to print just a little picture of my lilacs so I did the whole page!

The title was cut with my Silhouette.  I printed the definition on my computer then added it to the page.  I stamped the background with the Lilacs and Birthdays and Moments in Bloom both from Unity

Now I would love to see your take on the challenge:

Robot birthday card

Welcome to another Sketchy Saturday post.  I am also up on the Pattern Happy blog so be sure to hop over there for more information on the products used.

All products are from Pattern Happy except the star die... it is from MFT.  Isn't that little robot cute?  Great for a boy themed card don't you think?

A couple of mixed media/shabby chic cards.

I am up on the Unity Blog today, chatting about how I do mixed media projects.    Did you know that mixed media actually intimidates me?!  Yep it does!  But Unity stamps make them so easy!

I have used some Kaiser Craft papers along with burlap and twine from May Arts.  A few different Unity stamps have been used.  Hop on over to the Unity Blog for more information and detailed shots!
