Coming to an end!

Just back from our staff party. Things are starting to come to an end and I am seeing the light at the end of this tunnel! We are off to a track meet again this weekend and it is a long weekend so we won't be back until Tuesday. I won't be posting anything until next week. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I just found out that I will be teaching grade one full time next year, and although it is a great career move and I am looking forward to it, I am a little apprensive about how little stamping and scrapping time I will have!

Cottage Sugar Nellie

I random stamped the background paper then I tried to find a stamp that would work with it. I thought that this little Sugar Nellie image I received from Kathy fit perfectly. I used my copics to color her in.

Stamps: Cottage Floral and For Every Occasion (CTMH); Flower Sugar Nellie (Sugar Nellie)
Colors: Taffy, Orange, Garden Green, Sunny Yellow, Sunflower, Chocolate

This is my card for the Mojo42 sketch challenge. These colors were still out on my desk and I just think that they are so yummy! All CTMH. The snail is colored with markers and then liquid glass added to the shell.

Yum!

Another new stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs, isn't he the cutest thing! I made this card for Taylors challenge this week. The icing is liquid applique with beads (notice his hands and feet too!). I put liquid glass on his nose and glitter on his pom pom. The main image is on foam squares - I am really into the dimensional thing lately!
Stamps: Mouse and Cupcake (Whipper Snapper); Sentiment (My Favorite Things); Spot on Background (CTMH).

Hello!

Just received an order from Whipper Snapper, they have such cute stamps! This is a pretty basic card, but I know Danica is going to love it and want to use it for something! The main image is from Whipper Snapper, the sun is from CTMH it is in the August Word Puzzle. I used my cricut to cut the grass, and I used a foam tool to sponge Heavenly Blue ink onto the White Daisy cardstock. The main image and the sentiment are on foam squares. I used liquid glass on their noses and I see by the picture that it wasn't dry when I took the pic, oh well!

Wishing you Well

I have hummed and hawed about this stamp set for a very long time. Now that I have some copics AND Close to My Heart has an awesome deal on for June, I decided I had to have this stamp set called: The Best Way. I used a lot of stamp sets to make the Background paper, and the sentiment is from Say it in Style. All supplies are CTMH except the ribbon and bauble.

Blue Ribbon Girl

I got some new copics today! So I had to try them out. I looked through the images Kathy sent me and I this cutie seemed to fit the new colors. I am having so much fun with the copics, can't wait to go to Japan, I wonder if I can get them cheaper there??? The main panel is on foam tape and the butterfly is on a foam square.

Papers: Blue Ribbon level 2 (CTMH)
Stamps: Sleepover, Happy Birthday, Fluttering Friends, Watermelon Picnic (all CTMH) and the image?
Ribbon: Ricrac ribbon rounds (CTMH)

Busy, busy, busy!

So I get so grumpy when I don't get into my craft room to do some creating. It is my way to regroup and get ready for another day. Well, haven't been able to get in there. My teaching partner broke her ankle (ouch poor her), and won't be back at work so I don't get my Monday's off. Monday night I did a CTMH show (a huge success!), Tuesday nights Jason and I go kayaking, tonight I have a Japan meeting. Then people are here Saturday, Sunday and Monday night! My scraproom time is very limited lately so you can imagine how 'happy' I am! LOL. To make it worse it bothers me when I have nothing to post on my blog. Just what I need another stressor! So this post is to let you know, I am ok just a little to busy for my liking. But it all comes to an end next week when school is out. So I can hang in there. And really it is all going fine, I'm not stressed, just a little grumpy!

RAK from Kathy P

Wow, happy day! Yesterday I received this awesome gift in the mail! Look at the fabulous card Kathy made, and she wrote on a post it inside so that I could use the card. I don't think I can it is just too darn cute, although I do have a friend I would love to send it to! Then all the goodies, can't wait to use them, sooo.... lucky. Finally the awesome images! The owls are just too cute and I know once I show some of the little girl ones to Danica she will want me to make cards for her to use (she is going to eat up the girl with the kitten!). Love my RAK Kathy thanks so much!!!

Another Teacher Thank You

So I really wanted to get a bunch of scrapbooking done this weekend, but I had all these card ideas floating around in my head!!! This card is for my teaching partner, who is going to another school next year. She was a great inspiration to me and helped me out a lot. She is also a quilter so I hope she appreciates the stitching and buttons along with the 'teacher' theme.

All supplies are CTMH
Stamp sets: Library cards, Say it in Style, Solo Y
Colors: Outdoor Denim, Cranberry and Honey

Thank you Teacher

Danica has had the same teacher for 2 years now and she is awesome! She has been teaching for almost 30 years and she still has a passion for it and cares for the kids. I wanted to make her an extra special card. I love how this turned out. The apple is cut with my cricut and then chalked, the bracket is cut from a coaster with a sizzix die. All supplies are CTMH except die cut apple, spiral punch and bracket.

Stamps: Library Card, Say it in Style, solo m, solo i
Chipboard A (CTMH), chipboard star (unknown)
Embellishments: Cranberry and Outdoor Denim Accessories, Cranberry ribbon

I hope she likes it (and I hope she doesn't find my blog!)

Happy Birthday from the Gang

I got the inspiration for this card when I saw some in a store. They were expensive and not nearly as good (if I do say so myself). It took me hours (or so it seemed!) to do this card, but it was worth it. I didn't really know exactly what I was going to do, I knew I wanted the animals as pop ups and the rest evolved from there. I searched through all my stamp sets to see what I could use and I was surprised at what worked!

Stamp sets: June SOTM, Happy Birthday, Spring Leaves, Paradise, Jungle Leaves, April Word Puzzle and Weathered Backgrounds.

Everything is CTMH except the copics, cuttlebug folders and grass is from cricut!

Here is the card closed: The sky and grass are textured cardstock that has been chalked for dimension. The bird is colored with copics. The talking bubble is hand drawn. The tree is from the Paradise set and I used copics over top. The bird and the talking bubble are on foam squares. Here is the inside of the card. The trees were made using Weathered Backgrounds on Bamboo cardstock. Some of the leaves are on foam squares. The lions mane uses sassy strands. The alligator and elephant have been run through cuttlebug folders and the heads are on foam squares. The grass is from the cricut. I am thinking of making a sign in ther that says 'from the gang' or something like that.

Cheery Hi

I cased this card from Makeesha Byl. Her card used pinks and was a nice, simple, beautiful card. Mine started out being simple but I just kept going and going! I love how it turned out. All supplies are CTMH except red ribbon, button, safety pin and punch. The bugs and sentiment are on foam squares.

Stamp sets: Playful Petals, Angel Whispers, Lazy Days, Spot On Backgrounds, Journalling Jots, Decorative Dainties, Playful Flourish (embossed), For Every Occassion - Whew!

Paper Colors: Holiday Red, Kiwi, Heavenly Blue

Inks: Crystal Blue, Kiwi, Black, Holiday Red, Gray Flannel, White Daisy Pigment Ink

White daisy ricrac from Ricrac rounds collection

Golfing Riley - WSC52

I made this card for my FIL. He likes to golf so this image from Sparkle is perfect. I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge for the layout. The main panel and the sentiment are on foam strips. Riley is colored in using copics.

Stamps: Golfing Riley (Hanna Stamps); Sentiment (CTMH)
Paper: It's a Guy Thing Level 2 (CTMH)

Happy Birthday Taylor!

So hubby is gone and I got to play! After work I did some report cards, drove Jaimee and her friends to a movie and back, took Danica to a birthday party and picked up some groceries. Somewhere in there I had about 45 minutes and I made this card. I made it for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge, I love the sketch. The main panel is on foam strips, the balloons are on foam strips, clothing and balloons are paper pieced and the icing is liquid applique.

Stamps: Partybella (Stampingbella), sentiment (Hero Arts)
Paper: Whoops-a-Daisy Level 2, Kiwi cardstock, black cardstock and white daisy cardstock
Ribbon: Black Ribbon Rounds

Touching base

Sorry no new things to show you. I had a card class here tonight. It went well, I only wish I had more time to do more of them! Tomorrow night is our Family BBQ for the track and field club, so I won't be in my scraproom tomorrow either. BUT no track this weekend, and Jason is off fishing, Danica has 3 birthday parties to go to and I, in between doing report cards :( will spend as much time in my scraproom as I can!! Can't wait!

Mojo Monday41

This is for Julee's sketch her blog is: http://poeticartistry.blogspot.com/ Every Monday she comes up with a sketch. This is the first one I have done and. A simple card, but I don't think these ladies need a lot of fru fru!

Cocktails Anyone WSC51

Not really a fan of the Orange and Taffy colors but I so wanted to keep using my Copics and they were the only colors I have that would suit a couple of roosters! Can't wait for my other copics to arrive. Eulanda sent me this cute image and I love it. I used Beate's weekend sketch challenge for the layout.

Groovy Billboardbella

This is my card for this weeks Bella Sketch Challenge. I don't usually like these colors but I got some beautiful flowers from Eulanda and I took the color combo from there. Love it! The background paper was made using the June Word Puzzle from CTMH. All supplies except Bella and Flower are from CTMH.

Colors: Outdoor Denim, Buttercup
Papers: Let's Get it Together Level 2 (buttercup striped paper), Outdoor Denim textured cardstock (reverse side with stamped image), Outdoor Denim, White Daisy

This is what I came up with for Taylor's Weekly Cupcake Sketch Challenge (check out her blog in my sidebar it is great!). All supplies except ribbon are from CTMH. The Scallop Circle and Cupcake are from Cricut Cartridges (Mini Monograms and Doodlecharms).

Colors: Chocolate and Baby Pink

Proud mom!

Well we are back from the concert and it went well. Jaimee has always been our shy, don't draw any attention to me kinda girl. In fact if we praised her too much when she was little for doing some of those toddler firsts she really didn't like it, she would look for the things she did wrong. She did not like us to brag her up either. She has always been in gymnastics and swimming and is very good, but in no way wants any competition of any type. Well, not sure what has happened to her lately (she'll be 13 in a couple of weeks), but she has really come out of her shell. Several milestones have happened this year. Joining track and competing was one of them. Well tonight, she did a saxophone solo in during the concert tonight! She did an awesome job and we are proud of her. Can't believe she did it, I never would have!

Well, I'm pooped and off to bed. Must rest up for our track weekend ahead. Have a good weekend everyone.

Dream

I thought I had no mojo tonight but went into the scraproom anyways. I pulled out this weeks SCS Challenge and some garden green paper and it all came together rather easily! I love when that happens. Stamp sets: Butterfly Kiss, Delight in Everything, June SOTM, Playful Flourish, Air Mail, Solo d
I colored in the dragonfly with CTMH markers using watercoloring. The scallop circle is on foam squares.

I won't be posting for awhile again. Tomorrow is Jaimee's band concert and she is doing a solo! Then we are off to Duncan for the weekend for a track meet. I won't be posting until Monday or Tuesday. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Fairy RAK

I can't remember who sent me this image as one of my RAKs in May, but it is so fitting for my neice who is turning 6. Her birthday is in June and this is so her. She is a sweet little thing and I wanted to make her a card that fit her. This is it!

Colors: Bubblegum, Sunkiss Yellow and Kiwi
Colored in with my copics (I so need my other colors to arrive!)

Oh Happy Day

What a great day!!! I not only finally got some scrapbooking done but I also received LOTS of goodies in the mail! I am so lucky! This first bit is from my Postabella sistah Kim (Koreanabella). She is so sweet she left the cards blank so that I could use them! The cards are awesome, she used the bellas on shrinky dink - never thought of that before. Also she sent a cute little stamp set. Thank's Kim!
Next up, Vicki won my Pink and Flowers challenge awhile back. Well to thank me (and she didn't need to do that), she not only sent me the card that won, but also a portfolio filled with a bunch of cutie patootie images. Some of them so remind me of Danica when she was little! Thanks so much Vicki!
Now Eulanda my Bella Sistah spoiled me again. I did not expect any more packages from her as this round ended. Wow is all I can say! Where does she find all of this stuff! I absolutely love the flowers and all the other goodies and of course her card is fabulous! Thank you Eulanda!

Finally, I really should have been out weeding again. But after running around doing errands all morning I wanted to do something fun. The weeds will wait, I wanted to do some scrapbooking. I have had these pictures ready for ages but the paper I wanted to use just didn't feel right. Then I got my new package of Blue Ribbon in the mail and voila it just fit. (I had planned on using Heavenly Blue, Outdoor Denim, Sweet Leaf and such, so instead of the sweet leaf I put in the Blue Ribbon stripe!) Not a favorite layout but I am happy it is done!

Another Butterfly Kiss card.

You know, it has been a very frustrating weekend as far as scrapbooking goes! I thought I would get some done but no luck. It was finally a weekend at home, but Jaimee and I had Tag Day for our Japan trip. So not only did we have to do our shift, but being the coordinator (why do I do this to myself???) I had to drive around to all the sites at shift change to empty cans and check on people etc (on Friday night and Saturday). So that took up much of my time. Well of course since we have been gone so much it was also time to do a good cleaning of the house (in between driving around etc.). Then, Jaimee and I had the job of counting all the $$ and rolling it, which took us about 3 hours today - on top of the rest of the chores. We also got new french doors put in, so there was a lot of dust and debris around that had to be cleaned up! AAARRRGGGH! I then had a meeting about a Kayaking course Jason and I will be taking starting this week. Well I finally snuck into my craftroom tonight at 9pm! I still had this paper and stamp set out so I used a sketch I got from Pagemaps, and voila. I love the simplicity of this card. Stamp sets: Butterfly Kiss, Blooming Flourishes, Happy Birthday
Papers: Heavenly Blue, Black, White Daisy
Cricut cartridge: Mini monograms

Adorable Butterfly Kiss

I really need to get my scrapbooking done but these card ideas keep coming to me! This is a super simple card to make but very effective. I love the combo of Heavenly Blue and Black.

Stamps: Butterfly Kiss, Adorable Background
