Hi Laurel, again, congratulations. What I love about the whole papercrafting hobby is when you give these cards/memory books to others and they express delight over receiving something handmade, knowing how much time you put into making something just for them.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day, Laurel!
ReplyDeleteI love my card making and scrapbooking because I think of the person I am making the card for the whole time I am working on it. It is also the best way to keep my mind working - trying new ways to do things.

What I love about scrapbooking is the freedom to do what I want to do. I really just love to put colours together with patterns and embellish to my hearts content. It makes me so happy to play with glitter and paper and I'm proud of myself when I'm done. Such a good feeling.

ReplyDeleteLaurel: I, too, am a fellow CTMH Consultant, and have been for quite a few years now. I love both scrapbooking & cardmaking. However, my true love is the cardmaking. I could sit for hours designing cards. It just seems as though everyone you give a handmade card to REALLY appreciates it. I have even had a few friends frame their cards. It just gives me great joy to see the face of a recipient of one of my cards.

Hmmm....what do I love about scrapbooking/cardmaking??? So many things but I'll try to narrow it down! Cardmaking has become my latest obsession. I've always enjoyed sending cards because nothing brightens a day like a really cute card given for no reason other than to show love. Sending a handmade card is even better because the reciever knows that time and effort and thought were really put into making that card! Anyone can pick up a card from a store! Congrats on the 100+ followers, I'm adding myself to that list! Love your blog! I'm off to post a link on my blog to yours! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Laurel! Looks like I stopped by on just the right day ;)
ReplyDeleteI started with CTMH this fall....as a scrapbooker...but I have found that I LOVE making cards. It is relaxing for me, and with the CTMH Originals book, I really can't mess it up! Even my kids (all boys) enjoy making cards with me.

My blog is www.1scrappychic.blogspot.com
OH, WOW..........look at your blog Candy....and today is the last day, oh wow, I have to start off by saying thank you to Olenka for posting on her blog........now what a fabulous deal for us..........I haven't done one of these before so let me see........I might just be able to express my thoughts.............HUMMMMMMMMMM
ReplyDeleteWHY DO I SCRAP? It is relaxing for me, it is one of my outs. I am able to travel back in time and so many wonderful memories are brought to the surface as I go through my family photos. I have been able to share this wonderful hobby with some amazing and talented scrappers via the internet, and have had the opportunity to meet some of them in person. It is a feeling of real accomplishment when one of these talented individuals compliment you on a page you have just finished, and the chest pokes out with sinful pride to know that "yes I did that". I love to see the excitement on my children's faces when they look at a page that I have done and there are little notes of things that was going on in their lives as a wee one. Here again a memory and a joy all expressed out of a combination of papers and embellishments. Scrapbooking is a wonderful way to capture all the precious moments in our lives and to document the happenings. This is something I am only just now learning to do though, journalling that is.
I want to close this by saying thank you for offering such a wonderful blog candy and thank you for giving each of us the opportunity to win it. I did add your blog to my side bar before I even wrote this note. Thank you for all the inspiration, although I personally am not much of a card maker I have made some wonderful layouts based on the way a card is layed out. Now.......Wish me luck!
Wow congrats on so many followers! And now I am one! :) Scrapbooking/card making etc is such a stress reliever. It's amazing to look at what you've created and say, I did that???

Hi Laurel,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
I'm a follower now and will be back time and time again ... thats one of the things as well as the chance to win scrummy candy that I love candy links, it means I get to go to blogs I might never have caught up with..
Though I do end up reading and not crafting... still its all a learning curve.
What I enjoy most is probably a bit like everyone else.. creating something personal for aomeone.. and of course it means that if I am feeling a bit yuck... it can calm me right down. I have had a few years of not having good health and I'm sure paper stroking has helped the stress!!
