Sweet Award.

This is my second post so please scroll down for some yummy stuff!

I have been the lucky recipient of this award a couple of times (from Lucy and Kim), thank you sweeties!  So I am going to pass it on to Lea and Carla who inspire (and enable) me immensly with my Cricut, Amy who is the sweetest thing in blog land, Karla who creates beautiful CAS cards, Amy who just creates gorgeous creations with anything, and Theresa who inspires me daily.

Now for the list of ten things:
1) Although I would love to say it isn't, but my craft room is a mess
2) I have currently lost 25 pounds in the last 6 months and am working on another 10 -15
3) Danica just got her braces last week, pink and red for Valentine's
4) Danica's birthday is coming up - she is going to be 12 - my baby is growing up
5) Last night I sat in the living room and chatted with Jaimee, doesn't happen often as she is usually with friends - it was so nice to have her home for once!
6) Only just over a month until Jaimee and Jason leave for their Europe trip - Danica is excited as she knows in Spring Break I'll recover and repaint a chair for her room (zebra print)
7) I signed up to do a 10K run in April - never done one before.  In the fall I did my first 8K.
8) You know I hate cooking
9) I love Friday afternoons, coming home to my clean house - my housekeeper is awesome
10) I think I have to go in to the school again today - I hate having to go in on weekends but it just makes my week go so much better!

Time for some girl talk and You're Sweet

The sketch this week from Skipping Stones:

The color challenge from Embellish Magazine:

I was going to make a baby girl card with these colors but I resisted since I don't have any need!  So I played around with some PTI stamp sets (Polka Dot Basics, Text Background, Vintage Labels, Warm Happiness, On My Couch additions).  The coffee beans are from my stash (hehehe).  I also used my new Nestabilities Die that I received in my Scrap-mart DT package - so fun!  What a great team to work for!  The mug is mounted on foam tape. I am also including this in the Stamp Something Challenge - Delightfully Delicious - does coffee count as a food image???

Since I had similiar colors out I thought I would play with the Color Create Challene as well.

It was late at night and I am a morning person so I was kind of tired.  I just whipped up a set of mini cards using some scraps and some yummy Schlosser Designs and Unity stamps - which are definately food so this fits the Stamp Something challenge!

Sweet

This is my third post for today so please scroll down.

The sketch this week from Inspirational Card Sketches:

For my card I incorporated several challenges.  First is the 365 Card Challenge - Red, Rhinestone and Ricrac, The Crazy 4 Challenges - Lollipop, Just Buggin - All About Food and Practical Scrappers - pattern paper.

Pattern Paper: Papertrey Ink
Cricut: Doodlecharms
Cardstock: CTMH
gems, ricrac and lollipop stick - stash

Sending Happy Thoughts

The sketch this week from Cards & Things:

I decided to really challenge my self and use this hat from Elies Happy Hats, the Etsy Inspired Challenge for this week and use purple - I never use purple so this was just a challenge I put on myself - LOL!

Now for my card I incorporated several challenges:  The 365 Card Challenge (Square, Stripes and Spring), The OCC challenge - music, The Cute Card Thursday challenge - flowers, and the Saturday Spotlight challenge - Bigger - I have the large circle in the center.

Now this is sooooo out of my box and not my normal style at all, but I went with it.  I received this fabulous Just Right Stamp Set as part of my DT for Scrap-Mart, it is called Planta Little Love and you know me, I love flowers!  However I don't often color flowers, I usually cut them with my Slice or Cricut, or use stickers so I dug out my copics and went to work (I have really been using my copics a lot lately, feels good to color for a change!).  The background music stamp and the sentiment are from Unity.

Now that CHA is over my wish list is HUGE!  I can't wait to be able to order some of the new goodies and lucky for me Scrap-mart will be carrying several of them such as:
The New Sassafrass lines
New Slice cartridges and the Hands free mat (I so want this!)
New Unity stamps
New Spellbinders
Some American Crafts lines (yay)
Some October Afternoon lines (double yay)
the Tim Holtz sizzix dies - wow!
and so much more!

So keep checking Scrap-Mart for the fabulous items I know I will be!

Sweet Bundle, You Are My Heart and Sorry I'm late

The sketch from Sketch Girl this week:

This is my last card as GD, most certainly not as a player, I love SG sketches.  Although I have to admit this one certainly stumped me!  I got it in at the last minute as I just didn't know what to do with it.  I used my favorite Cosmo Cricket papers and then it all went together easitly!

The sketch this week from Clean and Simple:

The Etsy Inspired Challenge this week is from Elies Happy Hats - oh my the hats are so cute, I need a little girl again!

For my card I dug out some scraps and decided to make a card for hubby that is not valentine since I have already done that.  The sentiment is from Unity, the little 'x' is from CTMH.    Hard to tell in the pic but the white cardstock is textured.  I just got this Unity January KOTM yesterday and just had to ink it up!

The sketch from SCS, I haven't played in awhile.

While I still had the Fancy Pants paper out from last nights card and my January Unity stamps, I decided to pair them up with this new Sassy Studio Designs image - a sneak peek - Sassy Mad Hatter will be available on February 1st.  Don't forget to sign up for the SSD Alice in Sassyland games, it is going to be fun!  Today is the last day to sign up.

There is another sketch up on the Scrap-Mart blog and it is another Page Maps sketch.  Why don't you come on over and play.

For my card I used some papers from the Sassafras Me Likey line, so fun.  The sentiment is from the December Unity KOTM.  I colored with copics.

Celebrate Today

This is my second post for today, please scroll down for my Unity post.

The sketch this week from Eat Sleep Stamp:

For my card I broke into a Scarlet Lime kit (although I didn't use any of the paper just the die cuts!). I really need to not hoard these kits.

Pattern Paper & Stamp: Papertrey Ink
Cardstock & Ink: Close to My Heart
Die Cuts: Kaiser Craft
gems: Hero Arts

Smitten

The OCC sketch this week.

I made this simple valentine card for hubby.  I used all Unity stamps: Giving it All Meaning, Worn Grid Background, and the December KOTM, and of course my favorite Slice cartridge, Just Chillin Teen - which is available for a great price at Scrap-Mart.  I painted the lips with Shimmerz and mounted with foam tape.  I scented the card with Red Hot Card Scent - yummy - smells like Cinnamon Hearts.  This is another entry into the Caardvarks Red Heart Challenge.
Cardstock is CTMH (Textured Black, regular Gray Wool, White Daisy, Holiday Red and Tulip)

Live all the days and Have a Good Trip

Another Unity card for my Growing in Unity week.  I love this sentiment!  The papers are Cosmo Cricket and Jillibean Soup.  I did this for the Saturday Spotlight challenge - mostly yellow - let the sun shine in.
A Clean and Simple sketch - love this!

The SPCC color combo for this week:

No Unity here, but lots of fun Studio Calico stuff here!  I made this to slip into hubby's luggage when him and Jaimee head off to Europe - lucky ducks!  only 6 weeks or so before they leave.

My Dad

The sketch this week for 2 Sketches 4 You:

For my card I am still trying to use up the Grease Monkey (Bo Bunny) scraps from hubby's desk calendar.  I am happy to say that I have almost done it!

Thanks Teacher

Another Unity card for this week.  The stamps are all from the Unity set Hodge Podge of Happiness, and the sentiment is cut with the Words & Expression Slice cartridge. This is for the Saturday Spotlight challenge - mostly yellow.

Hey There Princess

If you are here for my Unity posts see below, this is my second post for today.

The sketch this week from Mojo Monday - I did the square one as I am a clean line kinda gal, hehehe.

For my card I incorporated the 365 Card Challenge - pink, paislee (hard to tell but I embossed the polka dot paper with an embossing folder, and princess) as well as The Pink Elephant Challenge - pink, polka dots and a bow.  By the way The Pink Elephant is sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs this week, so come on over and play along!  I used the Sassy Alice image again, isn't she sweet!  Alice is mounted on foam squares.  She will be available with a lot of FABULOUS images on February first - you will love them!  This is also for the Practical Scrappers Challenge - pattern paper.

Pattern Paper: MAMBI

Miss You and Bye Gizmo

This is my week at Growing in Unity.  I will be posting something using Unity stamps every day this week so be sure to come back each day to see what I have!   This Grainy background is probably my most used Unity stamp, I love it!  The little owl is from the July KOTM, isn't he a cutie!  For this card I was also inspired by the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger.

Cardstock: CTMH
Kraft: PTI
Ribbon: Stamp Simply
Punch: Fiskars
Letter Stickers: American Crafts
gems: Hero Arts

Now here is this weeks sketch from The Scrappiest:   Remember it is your last week to play for a chance at the Studio Calico Home Front Collection!

For my layout I had to use some purple, and I am still trying to get rid of some old stock of paper, so this is for Teri's Old Stuff Challenge.  These papers are from MAMBI.  The hearts were cut with my Cricut (Plantain Schoolbook), the butterflies from my Slice (Just Chillin) and the Flower (Spring) .  I also used some Unity stamps for the sentiment and journaling strips.  This is also for the Practical Scrappers challenge - Pattern Paper.

Gizmo (a hamster) was the first pet that Danica lost.  She was devastated.  I let her stay home from school and I used a sick day to stay home with her.  We decorated a box to keep some of Gizmos special things in (Danica still has that) and Danica found the purple box - it is what Gizmo was to be buried in.  When Jason hot home from work we had to have a 'funeral' for Gizmo.  Unfortunately that was the beginning of a few animal passings, later on that spring one of our bunnies was eaten by a cougar, in the summer we had to put Sasha (our dog ) down at the age of 14, Ragweed, another hamster died (one of Gizmo's babies - a long story there - 'we only put the hamsters together once mom' when a litter of 10 hamster babies arrived one easter!) and in the fall Danica's cat, Belle disappeared (we think a cougar got her).  Danica has gotten 'used' to animal deaths and doesn't have to miss school anymore.  Just last week our second bunny died - hopefully just of old age.

Make a Wish Alice

Here is a sketch from a challenge site that I just discovered - Cards and Things:

You know I had to do another card based on another cute tutu!  So adorable.  It is from Sweetie Pie tutus and is for the Etsy Inspired challenge.

Of course with all the pink I will enter this in the Crazy 4 Challenges.

This is a sneak peek of one of the new images coming out for Sassy Design Studio - will be available on February 1st.  Keep your eyes peeled on my blog as well as the other SSD DT to see the fabby new images!  This one is called Sassy Alice - like Alice in Wonderland.  I didn't do her blue I went with the pink.  The crown is cut from pattern paper and adhered. The image is colored with copics,  fussy cut and mounted with foam tape.

Sweet 1

This is my second post for today please scroll down to see some other goodies.

The sketch this week from Unscripted Sketches:

The EtsyInspired Challenge this week comes from Sweetie Pie Tutus - oh how I wish I had a little girl again these are so darling!  There were so many fabulous tutus to choose as inspiration but this one was too cute with all the pink.

For my card I incorporated a couple of other challenges as well.  The Crazy 4 Challenges challenge this week is 'Pretty in Pink' - how could I not do it!  The Just Buggin' challenge is a monotone card.  Of course I chose pink! ;)

Pattern Paper: Pink Paislee, Collage Press
Cardstock: CTMH
Cricut: Home Decor, Plantin Schoolbook
Slice: Travel International (for the word sweet)
ribbon: stash
gems: Hero Arts

A Stitch in time... and a woot

The sketch from Paper Sundaes.

The color challenge from The Play Date Cafe:

I was inspired by the sketch although I did flip it, but the basic outline of the sketch is there.

This tree is one of my favorite CTMH stamp sets (Grown With Love).  I was going for the feel of 'family tree'.  I did a bunch of sewing on the card - inspired by Paige at CARDS magazine and her fabulous card here.  I punched out the circles and the heart so this is also for the Creative Card Crew.  The heart is on foam squares.

Stamps: CTMH (tree), Unity (birds), PTI (Sentiment)
Pattern Paper: PTI
Cardstock: CTMH

A close up of some of the sewing.

While I had the paper out and the PTI stamp set Quilter's Sampler I decided to use some scraps to make another card.  For the 'buttons' I just punched out of cardstock, made some holes and tied some floss through.

Oh and remember this card, it was featured on the CARDS blog!  yippee!
