Oh my achin'...

We were gone for a ski weekend and although it was fun I ache!  Getting older is so much fun.  Of course I wiped out and jarred my sore shoulder, which of course is much sorer now.  Ah life in the forties!  We went with Jason's sister and her family and luckily everyone wanted to stop to watch the Olympic Hockey Game (yay Canada) - although I am not a TV watcher, I sure was happy to quit skiing and relax... I was done, certainly can't ski like I used to.

I've gone to the birds!

I discovered another challenge site and I really liked the sketch and I am sure I will use it again.  The challenge this week from Just Add Ink is a sketch:

The inspiration from Pals Paper Arts:

Finally my card which also incorporates the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge - 3 textures (I did emboss the center panel but it is hard to tell) and The CCEE challenge - Red, Black and Cream.  Finally, because of the vintage feel it works for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Back in Time.

Pattern Paper: CTMH (Silhoutte, Notebook); Jenni Bowlin (red)
Stamps: CTMH (Noteworthy, Love Birds)
Hemp: CTMH
Buttons: PTI

While I had this stamp set out, I wanted to make a CAS card for the Saturday Spotlight Challenge.  So I took in some more Color Challenges.  The first one: Curtain Call

This is from another Challenge site that I was invited to take part in.  Picture Perfect Creations:

Of course it is also another card for the Pals Paper Arts inspiration since I again included the bird cage.  This also fits the Olympics of Stamping on the Moxie Fab blog.

Stamps: Love Birds (CTMH); Out on a Limb (PTI); sentiment (CHF)
Kraft: PTI
Cardstock: CTMH

Embellished Happy Birthday

This is my second post for today so please scroll down to see what I did with the CPS sketch.

I needed a quick card for a little girl in my class so I used the Embellish Color Challenge:

Which was very similiar to the Stampin Royalty Color Challenge:

For my card I used the cute Schlosser Designs Hey Cupcake set.  Did you see the fantastic new over at the Schlosser Designs blog?  Erin has introduced 'Lite Stamps' which are the same fabulous stamp sets she has been selling but they are packaged in a plastic bag rather than the tin so the shipping is free!  Yes I said free shipping... but wait it doesn't end there, the prices have dropped a bit on the sets as well.  Head on over to the Schlosser Design blog and take a look for yourself... then shop, shop, shop at her store!  This is also for the Saturday Spotlight challenge - CAS and the Raise the Bar challenge - Three's Company.

Check it out

The Scrap-Mart blog has another one of my projects featured and I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone.  My next challenge is vintage - I don't do it very well - I keep trying but they end up in the trash!

2 CPS cards

The sketch this week from Card Positioning Systems:

I love the sketch and made a couple of cards, based loosely on it.  First the feminine version:

Then the masculine version:

Holy Cow - someone pinch me

Ok my week started off with a bang with winning some challenges and such and now I see that I got Honorable Mention on the JustRite blog for this card, I can't believe it!

Miss You

This is my second post for today, to see my Friends with Flair card see the post below.

The sketch this week from Get Sketchy:

We are sponsored this week by Inktegrity and the prize is a $15 Gift Certificate.  We were given a few cute images to work with and I had a hard time deciding which one I liked best!  Be sure to check out Inktegrity yourself and see what I mean!  I finally decided on this little birdie, isn't she just adorable.  I paired her up with some My Mind's Eye yumminess that I received in my goodie box from Scrapbook Trends.  I am normally not a yellow, red or blue fan but for some reason I love this paper! Go figure.  I paper pieced the image as well as colored with copics and then mounted it on foam squares.

Buttons: PTI
letter stickers: Paper Trunk

Be Who You Are

The sketch this week from 2 Sketches 4 You:

For my card I incorporated the Little Red Wagon challenge - black and white only and the Jacksonbelle challenge - flowers.  I used the Cricut cartridge Forever Young.  The stamps are from Unity.  I really wanted to use another color but I stuck to the challenge!

Remember to begin at Angela's blog for the Friends with Flair participants, there is a hidden blinkie along the way.

Oh and I have some new Unity stamps for sale, thanks to some great family members - however they got me duplicates of ones I have!  See my Stamps for Sale blog for more deets.

Thinking of You and Take Time for Chai

The sketch this week from Our Creative Corner:

I dug into my Cosmo Cricket Earth Love kit again - I have used so much and still have so much left (I bought some when it first came out and then I received my Scrap Shotz kit that was full of it!) good thing it is so fun to play with.  I only had a bit of time to play so this is what I came up with.  The sentiment is from Unity.  Both cards are for the Moxie Fab, Olympics of Stamping.

The Challenge this week over at Sassy Studio Designs is a sketch challenge:

I also took in the Design Dollies color challenge:

I decided to use Cocoa Carol again as I needed a card for a friend of mine who works too hard and just needs some reminders to slow down sometimes.  I will include a Starbucks gift card along with it.n  I paper pieced the chair and colored her in with copics. She is mounted on foam squares.  This is also another entry into the Practical Scrappers challenge - stamping and the Scrap Shotz challenge - coloring.

Oh wow!

I just checked Kelly Jo's blog to see if she has another color challenge and I see that I won the last challenge with this card - woot, woot!  I was also one of the Top 15 on The Pink Elephant, what a week this has been... should I buy a lottery ticket?

So Lucky

The sketch this week from The Pink Elephant:

The Color Combo from SPCC:

For my card I am using a new Sassy Studio Designs that will be available on March 1st - isn't she great!  Be sure to check out the SSD DT listed in my sidebar for some more fabulous creations!  Lindsay just keeps on pumping out some fantastic images.  This also fits the Scrap Shotz card challenge - coloring and the Practical Scrappers challenge - stamping (it is a digital image but the sentiment is from CTMH)

I made this to give to hubby on St. Patrick's Day with some yummy chocolates.  We don't usually do the St. Patrick's Day thing, but I think this just works as a 'just because' card!  I colored the image with copics (a great selection can be found at Scrap-Mart) and mounted her on foam squares.

The Great Outdoors

I finally played with a Creative Scrappers sketch, it has been a long time!  This is the sketch for this week:

While I still had the papers out from when I made this card, I decided to scrap this picture of Jason and Sadie.  Danica took it while out walking with them one day.   The papers are the yummy Basic Grey Origins that I got in my Scrap Shotz kit. The hiker is mounted on foam squares.

Born to shop

I was playing around with my Cricut again and used my new Forever Young cartridge.  I made this for the CARDS challenge to create a shaped card, along with the Just Buggin challenge - only black, white and one color.  I made a pocket on the inside to hold a gift card, perfect for the parties my girls get invited to.

Cardstock and Stamp: CTMH
Pattern Paper: Making Memories
gems: Hero Arts

Red means love

The sketch this week from The Scrappiest:

Don't forget to come on over and play along.  There is a great prize up for grabs this month.

I used my Scarlet Lime kit that I have had for awhile now.  When I wanted to scrap these photos and found (yes found ... forgot I had, hehehe) this kit it all fell together rather easily.  It is all about how I get red roses for valentines every year, but I really don't like red roses... white and pink I love but don't really like red.  The girls think this is funny as hubby has been told (certainly not on valentine's when he gives them for me) throughout the year when I talk about flowers in my garden and such.  I have probably discussed it every year a couple of times a year since we have been married... perhaps I shouldn't talk during hockey - LOL!  Oh well I do love that he thinks of me and buys me some fresh flowers as I do love bouquets.

Can I toot for Danica?

Danica and Jason got back tonight from the track meet - love the idea of an indoor track meet in the middle of winter!  Anyhoo... she got 2 bronze medals and one silver, proud mom here.  She got a PB in high jump and the other medals are in her best events - long distance running - 800m and 1500m.

A Green I love you and another toot!

My second post for today.

The sketch this week from Sweet Sunday:

The Color Challenge from the Loonie Stampers:

I used my yummy Scrap Shotz kit, that is full of Basic Gray Origins yumminess, which unfortunately is sold out.  I took in a couple more challenges with this one: Cards for Men - green and Stampin' Royalty - masculine.  I love this card as it could be used anytime, I'm thinking a great St. Patrick's Day/Just because kind of card.  The center circle is on foam squares, and although the cord looks crooked in the photo it really isn't.

Oh and can I toot again?!  I made the Fab 5 at 2 Sketches 4 You with this card!  Happy Dance here (my grade ones like my happy dance - they get it when they do great writing!)

A great start

Wow, what a great start to the week.  I just saw that I was a showstopper at Curtain Call - woot woot!

Sweet Birthday Wishes and a toot

I haven't made a Joy Fold card in awhile and with two challenges out there calling for them, how could I not?  Project Tuesday challenge is a Joy Fold card, and the Jacksonbelle challenge is a different fold.  I also incorporated the Scrap Shotz challenge of a banner card; the If the Shoe Fits challenge (plaid) and the Frosted Designs challenge - plaid and polka dots.

You want to know how I made the banner?  I used the Schlosser Designs ice cream cone from the Hey Cupcake set, so fun!

I dug way deep in the stash and found my My Mind's Eye paper scraps.  I haven't used these papers in a long time.  The letter stickers are from Doodlebug.

The inside of the card:

Close up of the cone banners.

Oh and a toot, I made the Top 3 at Frosted Designs for this Rock and Roll card, woo hoo!

Simple thanks

This is my third post for today and it is only noon!!!  Jason and Danica are out of town at a track meet, Jaimee has gone shopping for the day and I am here alone - woo hoo!  I am going to head out for a run on this beautiful, then off to buy some ink for my printer then back down to scrap.

Another sketch from 365 Card Challenge - love this one!

For my card I again incorporated a few challenges: Pals Paper Arts and Cupcake Craft - simple, and the Stamp Something challenge - spring.

Pattern Paper: American Crafts
Stamp: CTMH
gems: KaiserCraft

Get Well Hugs

My second post for today.  First one was very manly, this one very feminine!

The sketch from EBTKS.  Not normally a type of sketch that I do - too symmetrical for me, although I like how graphic it is and I could have done a simple graphic card, but I decided to step out of my box.
I incorporated this color challenge by the Design Dollies:

Now my card is again not my normal style and believe it or not it took me forever (in my terms - about an hour or so - my cards usually go together in half hour or less!)  I don't really know why it took that long but probably because it is not my normal thing I just didn't know what I was doing! LOL   I used my new JustRite Stamp set (Plant a Little Love)   (which is available at Scrap-Mart) so this incorporates the JustRite challenge and the Pile it On challenge - flowers.  I also incorporated the Creative Card Crew and Paper Cutz Challenges - Get Well; the Little Red Wagon and The Pink Elephant challenges - Ribbon. Finally the Stamp Something challenge- spring.

Now I know that this is a hydrangea but I am so looking forward to the blooming of my lilacs that I just wanted to give a hint of lilac.  The main circle is on foam squares as is the flower.

Very proud of myself too, I used more scraps for this card (Heidi Swapp).  I have used so much old stuff lately but you would never know it if you saw my room!  I am desperately trying to make room for more!

A couple of masculine cards.

The sketch this week from Skipping Stones Designs:

For this card I incorporated the Scrap Shotz challenge to make a banner card, Kelly Jo's color challenge (Kraft, Cream and Black), Cute Card Thursday - metal.  Both cards fit the Stampin' Royalty Challenge - masculine cards. and this one is also for the Caardvarks Sticker Challenge, most things on this card are stickers and you can't really see it but I did sew on the number 1 (even though it is a sticker).  The banners were cut from a border sticker folded and sewn.  I really had fun with this card.

Funny thing is, Jason and Danica are at an Indoor Track meet in Kamloops this weekend (a day trip to get there).  I was making this card last night when Danica phoned to chat - she always misses me ;)  She and her team mates are embarrassed that their dads are going to race in the Master's Relay race!  Too funny.  Apparently the dads joked about wearing shirts that said "I"m Danica's dad..." love it!  Knowing how Jason runs, I am sure that they have a good chance at winning.

All supplies are from Close to My Heart (Game On) except the Kraft Cardstock (PTI)

One of this weeks sketches from 365 Card Challenge - it doesn't show up very well here, there is actually a panel at the top of the card.

I again incorporated the Cute Card Thursday challenge of metal, along with the Cards for Men challenge - green.  Still making my way through the scraps of my Bo Bunny Grease Monkey papers.  I used my Cricut (Indie Arts) to cut out the gears and the Slice (Home Sweet Home) to cut out the wrench.  The stickers are from Making Memories and the brads are from my stash.

Be Happy girlie

The sketch this week from Get Sketchy:

We are sponsored this week from Wags and Whiskers who have some ADORABLE new Stamp sets.  I got to play with this little cutie pie!  The papers are some new Jillibean Soup papers, love them!  The sentiment stamp is of course Unity.  The little girlie is on foam squares.  This is another creation for the Papertake Weekly - checks and a couple of my cards today fit the Practical Scrappers  and Pile it On flowers challenge.

The sketch this week from Got Sketch:

I decided to make a card with the sketch and use some of my Unity stamps.   The little cars are on foam squares.

The sketch this week from Cards & Things

For my card I also incorporated the CCEE challenge to include something sweet.   The papers are from K & Company and the stamps are Unity.
