Happy Easter!

I hope that everyone has a great Easter.  We had dinner with my family last night and today we head out of town to spend it with my husband's family.  

I thought I would share a couple of Easter cards I created using the Southern Chicken Dumpling collection by Jillibean Soup.

Consider Yourself Vintage

I am playing along with the Friends With Flair again this week at Unity and am very surprised to see my last week's card featured there today!  I used the Lucky to have you kit along with the Oh Snap Mini Theme by Echo Park.  The polaroid is from one of the new Jillibean Placemats.

Cricut Cover Girl

Oh my goodness, Holly just let me know that my card using some Pebbles paper is on the cover of the April Cricut Magazine!  Totally made my day!  I don't have my issue yet, but here is a screenshot of the Northridge Media website.  Yay, I am happy dancing, thank you for letting me know Holly!

I just thought I would share a CAS card I created with the Echo Park All About a Boy collection.  Not much to say as it was very quick and very easy.  Thought it would make a great masculine congrats/just because card.

Celebrate Today

I am up on the Jillibean Soup Blog again today.  And once again, I have used the Irish Farmhouse Soup collection - can you tell I love this one! So many different looks from one package of paper!  I have also added a Wooden Flag, Button and Wise Words - all from Jillibean Soup and the burlap ribbon is from May Arts.

Project Life Week 12

I am just sharing my most recent pages from my Photo Freedom Album.  I used the Photo Freedom Volume 1 Collection by Echo Park.  To embellish the inserts I used some My Favorite Things stamps and dies, some Technique Tuesday stamps, some Elle's Studio tags, a bit of Divine Twine and finally, a couple of Silhouette Cuts.  The mini letter stickers are from Pebbles.

This week I had to include an insert page as well.  Lots of photos this week with it being spring break and all.

Sisters

We finally have some spring sunshine!  I hope it stays for a couple of days so I can get out in my flower beds before heading back from Spring Break.  I thought I would post this card I made with the Echo Park Sisters Mini Collection.  A super quick and easy card.  Now to clean the house then hopefully get outside.

I was playing around with my stash and decided to build up my 'teenage' themed cards.  I thought that with so many teenage girls in our family and lots of friends this may come in handy one day.  I used the He, she, you said, Modern Chit Chat and The Details all from Unity along with my Seen & Noted collection by Pebbles.  The chipboard speech bubbles are also from Pebbles.  I am playing along with the Friends with Flair and the Moxie Fab Speech Bubble challenge.

Shopping List Holder

I have tried to use my iPhone as my 'everything' however I am still old school in that I like a grocery list.  If there is a list somewhere, then everyone in the house can add to it - otherwise they say they told me and if I don't go find my phone and add the item to my phone list - I don't buy it.  Then of course it is my fault ;)

Now I decided to go back to the 'old fashioned' way of having a grocery list and that way "if it wasn't on the list I didn't get it" - then it is their fault and I like that much better :)   Anyhow, when I saw this fun Fresh Vegetable Soup collection by Jillibean Soup - I knew just what I was going to do.  I dug out an old wooden board I picked up at a garage sale.  I painted the back and sides in a burnt red color then cut out some kraft cardstock to fit.  I stamped the Unity Woodgrain Stamp on it to mimic a wooden board then I just went to work layering paper, bits and pieces of the Fresh Vegetable Soup to create my list holder.

Now this just sits in a corner of my kitchen and it is much nicer to look at than the regular 'old fashioned' grocery list.

I am doing double duty here today.  The challenge this month over at the Ribbon Carousel is

For my card I used the Pebbles Love You More along with some of the Basics.  I just love the soft springy color of the Love You More and it of course works well with the Basics collection.  I wrapped a bit of the new solid Divine Twine around on of the sentiments.  The dies are from Papertrey Ink.  For both cards I trimmed some of the Basics Journaling Cards to use as a sentiment.

Project Life Week 11

I have still managed to keep up with my Project Life - yay!  For this week, I pulled out the green and yellow of the few spring items in the photos and used my Basic Grey Fiction collection.  I have also used some Elle's Studio tags, some stamps and dies by Laina Lamb from MFT, some Technique Tuesday stamps, some Divine Twine and a couple of buttons from A Flair For Buttons.  Finally, a couple of Silhouette cuts and washi tape from Cute Tape to finish it off.

Halloween Decor

I just wanted to share with you the projects that I had published in the Paper Crafts Handmade Home Decor issue that is out now.  Both projects use upcycled items that I got at a garage sale or just kept out of my own garbage!  Love that!

First up is this oval frame that I purchased for about 25 cents - it is plastic and was bronze.  There was no glass or insert, but that is ok as I didn't need it for this project.  I used my Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor collection along with my Cricut and some May Arts Twine.

Next up are some glass bottles and a tin that I had laying around.  I knew they would work for something one day.  I spray painted them black and then just added the labels, after running them through my Xyron,  from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Halloween collection.  Easy peesy and so inexpensive.

Math Homework

I am up on the Pebbles Blog today.  And once again, I am using the Seen & Noted collection.  I thought they were perfect for these homework photos, don't you love how the cat 'helps'.  I have used some Technique Tuesday stamps along with Some Cricut and Silhouette cuts.

Inspiration Elevator

You may recall that the purpose of this challenge group is to take our scrapbooking to the next level, to stretch our creative process and to grow as artists by embracing challenges that make us think, work and grow. You can view all of the challenges on my blog by clicking here.
This month, our challenge comes from the very sweet and very talented Joanne Burton. Joanne resides in Waterloo and co-owns a scrapbook store there with her bff. Her scrapbooking style is classicly elegant and always showcases wonderful photos. It's no wonder that her challenge to is centered around the photo - here is the challenge, in Joanne's own words:
Inspiration Elevator has been such a tremendous experience for me! We have explored our style, stretched our single pages into two, documented our fears and regrets, scrapbooked our beliefs, worked with less than perfect photos and have even gone vintage! Hopefully we have each grown as a result of being a part of this group – I know I have! 

One of the fun things about scrapbooking is working with our photos. We get to pick and choose our favorite photos and have fun recording the memories behind them. So this month, I thought we could stretch our creativity by having some fun with our photos!

I assume we all work with digital photos, so this month’s challenge will work for each of you. I want you to pick a photo and then alter it in some way using your favorite photo editing program. I would like to see something more than just making your photo black & white. Maybe use a special effect, add a frame, play with text, etc. There is so much you can do!

Play with your photo until it conveys a particular look or feel that will help you to express your memories associated with that picture. Then add it to your page! When you post your finished project, please share how you altered your photo, and why you chose the effects you did. (Maybe you could even post a before and after of your photo!)

I am sorry to say that with everything that was going on lately, our dog having emergency surgery and me caught up in Report Cards I was not able to take part in this challenge.  I do hope you will hop along and see what the rest of the girls have created.
