Happy Camper Blog Hop

Hi everyone, welcome to the Jillibean Soup Happy Camper Blog Hop.  If you started at the Jillibean Soup Blog you and are hopping in order you should have arrived from Kim's Blog.  If not you may want to start at the beginning as you don't want to miss out on anything!

I am so excited to share my first project using the Happy Camper collection from Jillibean Soup.  It will be the perfect paper for scrapping all of our camping photos and I love the addition of the pink (although I didn't use any of it here).

For my project I reused this plastic packaging that I have had sitting around for awhile just waiting for the right project.  I decided to create a travel themed goodie box, for those long road trips.  When our kids were younger we did not live in the same town as any of our family.  When we heading out to visit they knew they were in for a long drive (15 hours to one family or 12 hours the other way to another).  Long days of keeping those kids busy, fed and hopefully some naps in there!  Anyhow, we always brought snacks but never ones packaged as nice as this ;)

I thought this would be a nice little gift to give to someone who you know is heading out on a road trip, I know they would appreciate it.  I used my Cricut to cut the recipe card, applied some SRM Stickers along with the Happy Camper stickers and die cuts.  Finally, I just tied it up with some May Arts twine.

Doesn't that snack look yummy (actually it is very yummy- of course I had to try some, hehehe)

By the way the snack mix is very easy and makes a lot.  I used the rest as a snack for my grade one students to munch on while we watched our classroom slideshow.  If you want the recipe I got it from food.com

S'more Trail Mix
Mix 10 cups of graham cereal (I used Honey Graham), 8 cups of miniature marshmallows and 2 (11 1/2 oz) bags of milk chocolate chips all together and store in an air tight container.

I thought I would try some variations on this as well: add raisins, cranberries, some nuts...

Now your next stop is: Leanne  and when you are done be sure to head back to the Jillibean Soup Blog and leave a comment for your chance to win.

Great idea for the gift box for traveling friends. The recipe sounds delicious and adding all of the other fruits and nuts would add to the taste and nutrition value. (do you worry about that when you are go camping>). Thanks for the idea.

Super fun box! I love what's inside but the fact that it's so nicely decorated would probably distract me from the goodies, at least for a little while, LOL! Thanks so much for sharing!
