A Christmas Wish vintage Christmas card

Happy Halloween and welcome to the Unity Blog Hop!

I hope you are leaving comments along the way as there is a fun prize up for grabs!  If you haven't been to all of the blogs you may want to start at the beginning at Andrea's Blog.

For my card, I didn't go with a Halloween one instead I jumped to our next holiday here in Canada - Christmas.  I have used the Vintage Christmas collection by My Mind's Eye along with a PTI die and of course a Unity Stamp.  I used a stamp from the October SMAK kit - I LOVE the SMAK kits, so versatile for cards, layouts and Project Life!

Here is what the whole SMAK kit looks like - I have already used some of these in my December Daily album (you will see that later on in the month with my Elle's Studio posts)

Now be sure to leave comments along the way as we have a prize up for grabs from one of the blogs.

Happy Holidays Mailable Christmas card

I am up on the Jillibean Soup blog today with this card.  I have to try hard to keep some of my cards simple and mailable as I do have to mail out quite a few, so this one is one of them ;)  I used the Christmas Cheer Chowder and mounted the sentiment on foam squares.

Project Life Week 42 & 43

A quick post today.  Not only a quick post, some quick pages.  I didn't put a lot into the pages this week because quite frankly, the sun is out, it is beautiful outside and I just need to get out there!  I used the Thirty One Collection by Pebbles along with some Jillibean Soup letters and cardboard.  Super simple pages, which were all about the journaling this week.  I have a lot of hidden journaling.

A Touch of Blue in a Christmas card

A quick card and post as I have to get busy on my chores soon.  I am still working on my Christmas card stash and for this one I went with the Noel collection (can't wait to get the wood bits!) by Elle's Studio along with a PTI stamp, some felt snowflakes using MFT felt and die and some Pebbles Candy Dots.

It went together so quickly because I was totally inspired by this card by Danni Reid (a rockstar card maker) who does the most amazing things with paper, one of my greatest card making inspirations ever!

Easy Gift Card Holders with Pillow Boxes

I am up on the Jillibean Soup Blog today with a couple of quick and easy Gift Card holders.  I have a lot of teenagers in my family and they love getting money or gift cards for Christmas so I created a couple of cute little packages to present them in.

I used the Kraft Pillow Boxes - part of the Stampables line at Jillibean Soup along with some Christmas Cheer Chowder.  I just cut these images from some of the journaling cards of the Bite Sized Bits tied on some twine and bells and added some of the Pea Pod Parts.

Be sure to stop by the Jillibean Soup Blog to see what everyone else has created for you today!

Halloween Home Decor from Thrift Store and Garage Sale finds

I love going to thrift shops and garage sales.  One of the reasons is because a few years ago I started creating some home décor from these finds - a bit of spray paint and scrapbooking items and some easy and inexpensive unique home décor.  I like slowly building my collection bit by bit, that is part of the fun.

A couple of wooden trinket boxes that I up cycled with some Echo Park paper.

My Mantle:  Some  old glass jars and tin spray painted then some labels from My Mind's Eye.  The oval frame was a cheap plastic find and I just added some Echo Park products.  I also love the vintage canning jar filled with $ store bones.

an upcycled wooden chest and notice the bone - a real whale bone.

my favorite find this year - this pitcher -which I like better black

then filled with these dried roses I have had hanging since summer.

some mismatched candle holders all painted black on top of a burlap runner I made and stencilled with some bats.

Still on the lookout for the perfect 'witch boot' but for now this one works.  I also spray painted the tall candlestick - it used to be an ugly bronze.

I have moved into my dining room now as today I spray painted this candelabra.  Can't wait to build up my dining room décor.
