Top Ten Blog Hop

Welcome to Top Ten Blog Hop for 2014.  I was going to cheat and post my Top Ten Cards and my Top Ten Layouts :)  but to spare you I chose 5 of each.  2014 was a difficult year for me and my mojo for crafting was really not there most of the time.  I am happy to say though, that it looks like I should be more back to 'normal' in 2015!

As you look through my favorite projects there are some commonalities you will notice.  I love to layer bits and pieces and not be symmetrical.  I like things to look like they just randomly fell onto the page.

I just had to take away from the symmetrical feel of this layout by adding some corner pieces

Stitching.  Stitching is another thing I include on pretty much every project.  It just doesn't seem finished to me if there isn't a bit of stitching somewhere - and the messier, the better :)

Die Cuts:  Love my Silhouette, Cricut and various Dies and most always include some sort of die cut somewhere.

Layers, stitching, stamping and asymmetrical - aaahhhh :)

Now be sure to hop along and leave comments along the way.  We have a huge prize up for grabs!!!

Jolly Good Winter

Today is sort of a lazy day for me.  Working on some business stuff and will be putting away my Christmas decor, but took some time to play.  I need some winter themed cards so I pulled out the Jolly Good collection by Chickaniddy, some dies, punches and stamps and went to work.

First up is the first card I created, using a new Simon Says die and a PTI stamp.

I was inspired by this sketch from Studio Calico
I cut this image from one of the pattern papers and made it into a tag.

Now, not wanting any paper to go to waste, I decided to create a couple more cards using the leftover scraps.

I love how these turned out and how quick and easy they were to put together.  Now to get them into the mail - that will probably take me the longest! Ha!

Whiskey than Tea

I had a bit of time to play today and just had to use my new Unity Sentiment (Whiskey than Tea).  I thought it paired perfectly with the Jess Fashionista and the paper is from Teresa Collins.  I am playing along with the Unity Friends With Flair.

Snow Day Holiday cards

We had my staff party here last night and it was a lot of fun!  I am mostly caught up around here, report cards are done and christmas decorations are out so I decided to play a bit this morning after cleaning up.

I pulled out some of my new stuff.  The Snow Day by Lawn Fawn and some new dies from MFT - all available at Simon Says!

First up a simple card using the Mitten die and a PTI stamp.  I added some die cut felt and stitched it on.

Next I just had to get this cup die, I will use it a lot!  I have a hard time with plain backgrounds :)  So I punched out some snowflakes and added stitching.

Playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches:

Both cards are for the Color Throwdown challenge:

As well as the As You See it Challenge:

Unity Blog Hop

Welcome to another Unity Blog Hop.  I always love Thursdays... love to see what new releases Unity has for us!  Once again they have some fun ones!

First up, I paired one of the new Itty Bittys with a Fashionista (Anastasia) as I thought they went well together!  The paper is Pink Paislee.

There is also a new Be Inspired Challenge up. I love the colors in the inspiration photo so I went with that.

I used the December KOTM (Warmth of Winter) along with some Crate Paper.

Now be sure to hop along and see all of the inspiration the Design Team has for you.

We have TWO amazing Unity filled prize packages to giveaway.  Leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win.  The winners will be announced Monday night on the Unity blog.

Fancy Holiday cards

I created a couple more Christmas cards.  This time, these were just for fun, a bit of me time since my report cards are mostly done.

I used the Tinsel & Company by Teresa Collins.  Such a pretty collection.

I played along with the Paper Players challenge:

On this first card I used a MFT chicken wire die along with a couple of Silhouette cuts.

On this card I just layered bits and pieces from the collection... no stitching, can you believe it?!  It is for hubby and he won't even notice ;)

I used the sketch from the Fusion challenge:
