Inspired By.... Halloween

The new Inspired By challenge is up and it is a little spooky ;)

I actually decided to create two cards... very different ones, but two and they both use the same sketch (for the Sparkly Inks card drive.... more on that later)

My first card is pretty literal as I went with the colors and the theme... but I am not a skull person (though for Halloween I do adorn my fireplace and mantle with skulls, bones, poison jars etc - similar to the photo actually) - thus I went with a cute Halloween.

I used the Hello Pumpkin collection from CTMH once again. I am having fun with this collection and knew I would, and believe me... it is one of the reasons I re signed on as a CTMH consultant!

I had to add some of the items from the Complements pack and that adorable ghost from the Scrapbooking Stamp set... he is just too cute!

To create the witch hat, I used my Silhouette file. I then also cut out the witching hour sentiment from the pattern paper.

Now next up... I thought the colors from the inspiration would work well for a Christmas card too so I used the same sketch and created a Christmas card using the 'Tis the Season paper pack.

I stamped the frame from the 'Tis the Season Cardmaking stamp set, trimmed it then tucked it behind the pattern paper.

Now if you know me at all, you know I can't make winter/holiday cards without some snowflakes so I had to have the Winter Flurries die set, which I can see being used a lot!  I stapled them on because, well.... staples ;)

I then fussy cut the bucket of greenery from the pattern paper and if that wasn't enough, the little bow is fussy cut and adhered as well. I then mounted it on foam squares for dimension and as a final touch, sprinkled some Loose Sequins - Silver - here and there....

--> my tip... to adhere sequins you NEED small - like mini- glue dots and good tweezers... :)

Ok, so here is the inspiration... are you still with me? ;) Fun one hey?

Now that Sparkly Inks Card drive? The details are here and it is for a great cause.... there is a new sketch for each day of the month! I used this sketch for these cards:

Thankful for Fall

I am up on the A Flair for Buttons blog today sharing the last of my 'Thankful' cards.... as I have moved onto Halloween and shortly.... Christmas!

The papers are the Grateful Heart collection by CTMH, yes another Grateful Heart project.... ;)

I punched out some leaves and used twine to add some 'movement' to the leaves. I then scattered sequins and the Grateful Heart Cork shapes along with a button from AFFB (check out the blog for more details). The stamped sentiment is from this months SOTM (Thanks & Giving).... it's only around for a couple more weeks so be sure to nab it!

Happy Halloween

I have another Halloween card to share with you today. I have a couple people who have hosted parties for me this month so they will be getting Hallowe'en themed thank you cards :)

Once again I have used the Hello Pumpkin collection and that cute little ghost from the Hello Pumpkin Scrapbooking set.

I fussy cut the bat and moon from one of the pieces of pattern paper. The ghost is mounted on foam squares for some dimension. Once again, loving those Hello Pumpkin shapes. As a final touch I added some sequins to the sky.

Be a Unicorn combining Christmas and Halloween papers on a Halloween layout

Two layouts in one day?! Not just 2 cards but layouts! Yep... I was supposed to go on a day hike with hubby and trust me... it is an all day straight up mountain kind of hike. I would have gone but.... we have been very busy lately and for the most part I need Sundays to recoup.... some 'me/alone/craft' time. I haven't had it for the last few Sundays. As the hike was getting closer, more and more people were going (hubby's friends) so I let it be a 'guy' thing ;) so I could be at home doing my 'girl' thing!

I have taken advantage of it so far and thus have a second layout. Next on the agenda is to make some soup, clean the house, run and then back to crafting.

For this layout, I am so happy that I saved the photo for now. The mixture of papers worked out so well as I didn't want traditional Halloween papers for such a cute photo!

I combined the Hello Pumpkin with the Oh What Fun collection and you can't even tell that the Oh What Fun is actually a Christmas pack!

I sprinkled bits of the Hello Pumpkin Complements here and there on the layout to complement the theme.

I used the Hello Pumpkin shapes to add a dot to the 'i' in Unicorn. I cut the title with my Silhouette.

Pumpkin Patch fun

I'm sharing a layout today. I love this photo of my grand daughter from a couple of years ago. I love that her mom is standing behind her and thus it shows how little she is <3.

I used the Hello Pumpkin collection from CTMH along with one sheet (woodgrain) from Grateful Heart.  I had a few scraps from previous projects so I layered them up until I liked the look.

I then added some stitching here and there... because... well, that's what I do. I then added one of the stars from the Hello Pumpkin shapes. I also added bits and pieces from the Complements pack - I love that these packages include chipboard as well as stickers.

And once again, some 'stitching' lines using the Stitched Border

The cut files are from the Silhouette.

Hello Fall - using scraps to create a background

I'm sneaking in the last few fall projects... up soon will be my Halloween ones then on to Christmas - yay!

Once again I have used the Grateful Heart collection. This time I put all of those lovely scraps to use.

I just trimmed a handful of them down and layered bits and pieces on a card front until I was happy with the look. I was going for a 'rag quilt' kind of feel so I added some stitching as well.

I then cut out the sentiment with my Silhouette and added stome stickers from the Complements pack - you know... can't have fall without pumpkins!

I then die cut a coffee cup and scarf. I stitched the scarf onto the coffee cup and then it was mounted on foam squares.
