I played along with a few challenges. The first is the sketch challenge from Sweet Sunday:
At the Shabby Tea Room, you are to make a project with your birthstone, mine is Topaz.
I also played with the Pink Elephant challenge - paper piecing and the Kraft Journal challenge - celebrations (this is for a hostess gift for our Thanksgiving dinner). Our BIL and SIL always hosts Thanksgiving dinner for hubby's side of the family so I thought I would bring this. Now you have to use your imagination that this is filled with goodies (think pumpkin fudge, sugar cookies, caramel popcorn... haven't decided yet - if you have any good recipes or ideas I am open !). I made the tag with my Bella Blvd One Fall Day scraps, yes that is pretty much all I have left of that paper! I also upcycled a tin I got at a garage sale for 10 cents! I sprayed it brown and then just rubbed some Burnt Orange acrylic paint so the leaves and such show up better. The stamp is from Papertrey Ink, love the Friendship jar and its fillers. Lots of fun fussy cutting and paper piecing on this. A bit of burlap and a PTI button finish it off.
cute gift--love your paint technique:)
