Today, in thinking of fall I thought of our family outings to go get wood when I was a littlg girl, which of course always included some hot chocolate. Now there is also something about a good red and black plaid that makes my heart happy and I think it is just because it brings back many good childhood memories of comfort.
Anyways, onto the projects. I have used my very hoarded Hot Cocoa pack from American Crafts....love this pack.
First up, I started with a card. The CLC Design Team was very lucky to get this fun new stamp set from Echo Park and I knew I would use it to create a hot chocolate card.
I paired it up with the Hot Cocoa die set from MFT.
Now for a real fall feel, I added some plaid scarves to the mugs and some vellum wind current (both dies from Echo Park). The mugs are mounted on foam squares. That whip cream.... it is topped with real hot chocolate - which by the way, came by accident.
When filling up the tube for the next project, I spilled some onto the card... I thought it looked great so I added more! What do you think?
Next up... I decided to create a coordinating hot chocolate gift pack using some SRM Tall Boxes. They were very quick and easy to decorate.
The mittens and mug are from an Echo Park die set. For the sentiment, I stamped the same Hot Chocolate sentiment as on my card above, but just trimmed off the words I didn't want. To add to the fall theme, I added some punched maple leaves. The tubes are filled with hot chocolate, marshmallows and chocolate chips.
My 18 year old nephew and his girlfriend just moved to town as it is cheaper to live here than where they are from... I just may give this little set as a 'house/appartment/welcome' gift :)
Now be sure to keep on hopping and leaving comments.... lots of great prizes to be won! You might want to start at the CLC Blog.
