Welcome to another Mindful Monday. What is Mindful Monday? well... it is explained here, but in a nutshell, documenting simple things that just make us happy. I think it is important to take the time to be mindful and just appreciate what we have, and the simple and amazing things that surround us in our daily lives.
This week's prompt is... music.
What does that mean to you? do you have a favorite type? does it stir up memories? perhaps a funny story related to music (e.g. at a dance with friends and your favorite song comes on)...
Music, I love music. I used to have it on all of the time growing up and really enjoyed it. I find now as I am older I much prefer a quiet solitude - probably because of my job - so much stimulation - aka - noise pollution all day long 😉
Anyways, doesn't stop me from enjoying a some loud music while on a car ride by myself.
I used some SRM Stickers (sad that they are no longer) for my pages.
I really like any type of music - depends on the occasion. I definitely have a sweet spot for 80s music - lots of fun memories tied to that!
But if I had to choose only one type - it would have to be country. My dad listened to it and I associate it to many happy memories - camping, fishing (my dad had an 8 track player in his boat) and just living in the country as a child... good old Charly Pride, Merle Haggard, Don Williams and of course Johnny Cash - any of those old songs make my heart happy. Now I choose country as the new country is like the old rock that I liked as a teenager. So country music feeds my soul
I would love to see your take on the prompt.
Lovely post. My choice is also country music. I grew up listening to a a lot of different genres of music thanks to my mom's willingness to allow my brothers to listen to what they wanted. I gravitated toward pop at first, but was growing tired of it as I moved through high school. When I was in college I let my brother borrow my car. When I got back in, he'd changed the radio station to a country one. The first song I ever heard was George Strait's, The Chair. I didn't change that station for a very long time. :) Fun memory. Thanks! I love your memory, too. Happy hearts, indeed!
