I actually decided to create two cards... very different ones, but two and they both use the same sketch (for the Sparkly Inks card drive.... more on that later)
My first card is pretty literal as I went with the colors and the theme... but I am not a skull person (though for Halloween I do adorn my fireplace and mantle with skulls, bones, poison jars etc - similar to the photo actually) - thus I went with a cute Halloween.
I used the Hello Pumpkin collection from CTMH once again. I am having fun with this collection and knew I would, and believe me... it is one of the reasons I re signed on as a CTMH consultant!
I had to add some of the items from the Complements pack and that adorable ghost from the Scrapbooking Stamp set... he is just too cute!
To create the witch hat, I used my Silhouette file. I then also cut out the witching hour sentiment from the pattern paper.
Now next up... I thought the colors from the inspiration would work well for a Christmas card too so I used the same sketch and created a Christmas card using the 'Tis the Season paper pack.
I stamped the frame from the 'Tis the Season Cardmaking stamp set, trimmed it then tucked it behind the pattern paper.
Now if you know me at all, you know I can't make winter/holiday cards without some snowflakes so I had to have the Winter Flurries die set, which I can see being used a lot! I stapled them on because, well.... staples ;)
I then fussy cut the bucket of greenery from the pattern paper and if that wasn't enough, the little bow is fussy cut and adhered as well. I then mounted it on foam squares for dimension and as a final touch, sprinkled some Loose Sequins - Silver - here and there....
--> my tip... to adhere sequins you NEED small - like mini- glue dots and good tweezers... :)
Now that Sparkly Inks Card drive? The details are here and it is for a great cause.... there is a new sketch for each day of the month! I used this sketch for these cards:
I adore both cards, and can see why you'll use every single scrap of that collection, Laurel!

ReplyDeleteI love both of these...very clever! I got that scrapbooking paper too and haven't dug into it yet...I need to do that after seeing this cutie!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, that first card is adorable. That ghost makes me smile. Your use of the paper and the sentiment is terrific. Love the hat, too. Thanks for sharing the second card, too. You sure showed the versatility of the sketch by making the fabulous Christmas card. Love it, too! Wow!
