Inspired By...modern quilt

The new Inspired By challenge is up and it is so bright and cheery.

I was inspired by the quilt and I pulled out a sketch... to create a layout.

I used the I Heart Us collection to scrap this adorable photo of my grand daughter.

I used the Stitched Square die to cut out the squares (all from scraps). Funny thing is that you don't have to stitch as there is already faux stitching on the squares.... however, you know me and my sewing! LOL.

I used some of the frames that are cut when cutting the square just to lay over top of my 'quilt' for more detail and texture. I then just stitched.

Once all of that was in place I added the photo, journaling card, die cuts and stickers.

Now here is the inspiration, can you see how I was inspired? Come on over and play!

Documenting Life - weeks 5 - 8

Yes I'm still doing my Documenting Life album - I just decided to share 4 weeks at a time rather than one because, well each week is not too exciting! Not a lot on each page - a photo, journaling, a die cut or 2 and perhaps a stamp. Easy peesy. I do my page every Saturday night after my grand daughter goes home. Which is probably why they are simple, it is all I can muster after having her for a sleepover then all day ;)

I did share this page before but thought I would again as it is part of these four weeks.

We finally got some snow and it was just enough to take the little out sledding at the local school. She, of course, loved it! Simple pleasures.

After 27 years married, I still get flowers on valentines  - and the next day when I went to go to work after it had snowed, my car was all scraped off of snow 💓

My 'Sunday hiking club' went snowshoeing instead of hiking...I LOVED it. The day was perfect. I came home and ordered snowshoes for hubby, myself and grand daughter :)

Sketchy Saturday with another Sympathy card

I am here with another Sketchy Saturday for you and my 5th sympathy card using the Feels Like Home collection

I stamped a 'brick background' using a couple of sentiments from the Know that I Care set. I then added a bit of 'splatter' from the Feels Like Home Scrapbooking stamp set

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Love Blossoms stamp set, cut it out and apart and scattered it down the card... like a trail from the butterfly.

I fussy cut the butterfly from the pattern paper. I added stickers from the Complements and of course some staples.

Now I would love to see your take on the sketch:

Inspired By...time to write

The new Inspired By challenge is up and I was inspired to create a layout.

I used the Feels Like Home Collection as I went with the vintage feel of the photo. I was also inspired by the clipped notes so I clipped the elements on my page.

I love this photo of my dad (the youngest in the photo) and my uncle on their childhood farm. I scanned the photo so as not to destroy the original. So happy to have it scrapped.

There is a lot of pink in the collection but I wanted to stick with blues and grays so I cut apart some of the Picture My Life cards to make them go farther.

I then added some fussy cut images, items from the Complements and some die cut Rectangle Frames. As a final touch I had to add the stamped sentiment from the Quotable Words stamp set.

And here is that cute picture again :)

Here is the inspiration photo... come on over and play!

Thin Cuts Blog Hop

Welcome to the CTMH Thin Cuts blog hop. You should have arrived from Brenda's blog. If not you might want to start at the beginning at Catherine's blog in order to see all the amazing things done with our Thin Cuts.

I have a few cards for you today. I am starting with a simple one. I thought the flower paper looked like it could be framed so I used the Stitched Square frame to cut out the square along with the coral frame.

I then used the Stitched Heart die and a retired sentiment die for some interest. The stamped sentiment is from this month's special Love Blossoms

Next up, sometimes I like a clean and simple card but still want some interest. I love using our Stitched frames in tone on tone to create the interest.  I just layered various frames then added a stamped image using the A Balanced Diet stamp set

Finally, sometimes I just have fun with my dies. Here I have used the Stitched Heart die to create a 'lucky' card. Once again, I added in some Stitched square frames. The stamped sentiment is from the Love Blossoms set and then I added some die cut letters using the Block Alphabet dies

Next up on the hop is: Darlys
