Thankful banner

I am so excited, this is my first project as a Glue Dots®  DT member!  I still can't believe that I made the team.   A few months back, perhaps even a year ago... I was asked what is one thing in my craft room I couldn't live without, Pattern Paper is a given my answer was my Glue Dots and my Paper Cutters.  I use Glue Dots on everything, everyday, they are the best invention ever!

Our first assignments are Thanksgiving/Halloween projects, and I did one of each (the other project will be posted later in October).  I decided to make a Thanksgiving banner using some scrap canvas that I had laying around.

I am playing along with the Friends With Flair at Unity this week.  I used my new Simple Blessings stamp along with a sentiment from an older Store Kit.  This is also for the Falling Leaves challenge at Unity.

I cut the banner with a Spellbinders die, sprayed it with ink and then adhered each panel together with a Glue Dot®

I then went to work embellishing each panel.  I cut the letters with my Fall and Back to School Slice cartridge. I adhered them with some Glue Dots and although sewing is not necessary as the Glue Dots are so strong, I sewed for decorative purposes.  I then used some Unity stamps and stamped the leaves and sentiments on some Crate Paper Portrait paper, cut out and once again, adhered with Glue Dots, and a bit of decorative stitching.  Finally I embellished with some buttons and twine, all adhered with Glue Dots, a variety of sizes depending on the size of the item.  The twine is from May Arts available at Ribbon Carousel.

Here is the full banner:

Now some close up shots.

Isn't the Crate paper perfect for this.

I wrote this blog post while participating on the Glue Dots design team; hope you enjoyed my first project as a Glue Dots Dottess.

Make a Wish

Well it has been a trying few days (well since Saturday afternoon) we have had a very sick dog I won't go into details, but luckily we were finally able to get him into the vet today becauseI had thought that he wasn't going to be alive this morning when I got up.  We were using a syringe to squirt water mixed with elecrolytes into him every 20 minutes last night.  Anyhow he finally got to see a vet, and $1600 later he has had surgery, had a small bouncy ball removed from his intestine and is apparently recovering at the vets.  Poor dog was apparently in a lot of pain too but didn't show it.  Hopefully we can bring him home tomorrow.  Definitely a trying time in our house.

Anyhow, I decided to go play in my craft room tonight.   I used this inspiration from Cupcake Inspiration:

Which was similiar to the Jay Gee's Nook Challenge:

I used the sketch from My Favorite Things:

I pulled out  my Ever After paper by Pebbles along with one of the a la Modes stamps from My Favorite things. The small tag is from Pretty Little Studio, the sticker is from SRM and the twine is from The Twinery.  The cake has been mounted on foam dots for dimension.

Just sitting here

A busy night here but I did manage to sneak in a bit, very little bit of crafting tonight.  I saw this color inspiration on Pinterest awhile ago and had to save it.  I finally sat down and made something based on all the hours I have spent on Pinterest ;)

Like I said, it had to be quick and quick it was.  I used my PTI On My Couch stamp sets and here is my quick and easy card, the cushions are on foam squares and of course a bit of twine from The Twinery.

Paper Crafts publications

The new Paper Crafts Holiday Cards and More issue goes on sale today!  I can't wait to get mine.  I have 2 projects published in it.

This project uses some Cosmo Cricket paper (Garden Variety) along with some Unity stamps and a template from The Cutting Cafe.

I can only show you one but here is a sneak peek at the other one, I used some Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe

Thanks Bunches

It has been awhile since I played along with Card Patterns and I really love this sketch.

I also was inspired by this Paper Smooches Sparks inspiration:

I used my Crate Paper Neighborhood papers which were perfect for this challenge.  I also used the Fruitastic and Vegetastic stamp sets from Paper Smooches.  The leaves of the strawberries have been mounted on foam dots for dimension.

2 Peas Top 3!

I made the Top 3 at 2 Peas again!

So Thankful for You

When I saw the color challenge for CR84FN this week, I wanted to play right away

I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop:

I really wanted to use my Some Odd Girl Kaylee again as I thought she would look great all decked in Fall attire too!  The woodgrain paper is from Basic Grey, the pattern paper is Sassafras (Sunshine Broadcast), the orange cardstock, ink and die are from PTI, the flashcard is from Pretty Little Studio and the twine is from Divine Twine.

ETA - I see today that this is in the Top 3 at 2 Peas!

Snugglin

I found this old photo of Danica and our first dog Sasha (she was put down a couple of years ago at the age of 14).  Sasha was a perfect dog in every way (except that she ate too much... we found out one summer after we had her thick wooly winter coat shaved off and she looked like a pig she was so fat, we thought it was all hair, LOL).  Anyhow, she was the type of dog that the kids (and us for that matter) could do anything to and with, and she did it all with a 'smile'... well except for when Danica wanted Sasha in her bedroom to play with, then we got the look like "Do I have to?"  hehehe.   Although Max is a great dog, I still miss Sasha, poor Max is always compared to her.  This is all with the Bella Blvd Tail Waggers and Cat Naps papers and elements.

Simple Blessings

I snuck into my craft room this morning before my mom stopped over for her visit and made a card for a few challenges.  This is my second post for today, be sure to scroll for my Wee Memories post.

The first is the ATU challlenge - No Layers

I used the colors from The Play Date Cafe:

I made a really quick CAS card using the Unity Stamp set Simple Blessings (which happens to be on sale!).  I just got it in the mail yesterday and had to ink it up.  This is also for the following challenges: The Kraft Journal - Welcome Fall;  The Unity Challenge - falling leaves; and the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge - fall.  The twine is some May Arts twine available at Ribbon Carousel.

You Did It

Time for another Wee Memories challenge and the challenge is Pattern Paper.

This week we are sponsored by Echo Park!  I played with my Happy Days paper and thought that this would make a good card for a grad or for a guy who earns his driver's license or any other occasion.  The stamps are from PTI.

Cozy & Warm

I decided to play along with the Some Odd Girl inspiration challenge as it was just so pretty:

This is also for the SOG Flickr challenge - 12 Weeks of Christmas week 1 - make a Christmas/Holiday tag.  I used some Bella Blvd papers and the flower on Kaylee's hat is a Maya Road resin flower.  The twine is from The Twinery and the tag is cut with my Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes and More.  I have also used a SRM Sticker and a flashcard from Pretty Little Studio.

Starting Grade 8

I am so excited for my post today!  I was asked to be a Guest DT for Scrap it With a Song!  The challenge this week was the song "Yellow" by Coldplay.

I used the sketch from Twisted Sketches - the twist being Start

I couldn't wait to use my Fancy Pants Off to School and scrap this photo I took of Danica on her first day of grade 8... grade 8 sigh.  Jaimee is in grade 11 now, where oh where does time go?  The paper, chipboard and stickers are all Fancy Pants, the cork letters are CTMH,  the other letters are from Bella Blvd Sophisticates, he twine is from Divine Twine and finally the flash card is from Pretty Little Studio.  This is also for the Sketches in  Thyme Open Challenge.

What's Shakin?

I wanted to play along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge:

My card is a 4 X 4 card and I used some Echo Park Happy Days paper and stickers along with a stamp set from Pink By Design.  So quick and easy.
