I am so excited, this is my first project as a Glue Dots® DT member! I still can't believe that I made the team. A few months back, perhaps even a year ago... I was asked what is one thing in my craft room I couldn't live without, Pattern Paper is a given my answer was my Glue Dots and my Paper Cutters. I use Glue Dots on everything, everyday, they are the best invention ever!
Our first assignments are Thanksgiving/Halloween projects, and I did one of each (the other project will be posted later in October). I decided to make a Thanksgiving banner using some scrap canvas that I had laying around.
I am playing along with the Friends With Flair at Unity this week. I used my new Simple Blessings stamp along with a sentiment from an older Store Kit. This is also for the Falling Leaves challenge at Unity.
I cut the banner with a Spellbinders die, sprayed it with ink and then adhered each panel together with a Glue Dot® .
I then went to work embellishing each panel. I cut the letters with my Fall and Back to School Slice cartridge. I adhered them with some Glue Dots and although sewing is not necessary as the Glue Dots are so strong, I sewed for decorative purposes. I then used some Unity stamps and stamped the leaves and sentiments on some Crate Paper Portrait paper, cut out and once again, adhered with Glue Dots, and a bit of decorative stitching. Finally I embellished with some buttons and twine, all adhered with Glue Dots, a variety of sizes depending on the size of the item. The twine is from May Arts available at Ribbon Carousel.
Here is the full banner:
Now some close up shots.
Isn't the Crate paper perfect for this.
