I'm a big sister

This is Jen's sketch this week: Here is my card! Heaven help me if I ever need it for myself!!! LOL! I wanted to use this Tilda again so I was digging through some papers I received from Eulanda awhile ago. I love these colors and they were perfect. It then just lead to the final product somehow! The main image and center sentiment circle are mounted on foam squares. I again used Pink Shimmerz (love this stuff!) on her hair bows and shoes.

Bella Birthday Wishes

Here is Taylor's Sketch this week: After Danica's soccer game (yay she won!), I had a bit of time to whip up a card for my neice's birthday. She is in from Victoria and we got her a black hat, black and white scarf and a gift card to a great 'teen' store (she is turning 13). Anyhow I quickly put this card together for her (she is like me and loves pink - smart girl!)

Floral Thank You

Here's something for you to ponder: 'you know you are a crafter when the clear button falls off your pants and you try to determine if you need to sew it back on or if it could go into your scrapbook supplies! This happened to me and I have worn my pants since (it is a button on the inside of the waistband and it does have snaps too!). I think I just may add it to the scrapping stuff! LOL!

So on to the card for today. Here is Amy's sketch, I haven't done one of hers in awhile.
Here is my card. Very simple to make! I used cut the flowers out of the patterned paper, mounted with foam squares and a bit of sewing and voila!

Heartfelt

Ok so I lied, I did one more! This will for sure be the last Kraft card for awhile. I just wanted to do a simple one, and believe me it was simple! Krafty hi

This is the first sketch for Card Patterns a few weeks ago. I finally made a card with it. I just got my Scrapaholic Kit in the mail yesterday and it works so well with this months Caardvarks challenge that I wanted to see what I could come up with. I used many elements from the kit, I am definately learning to overcome my hoarding tendencies!

Proud mom

So Jason and Danica arrived home safely last night around 10:30. Danica was very excited and happy with her trip and her performance. Although she has not really been training a whole lot (track is not a sport we can do outside here through our winter!), she has done a bit. Well she came home with 4 medals - 1 silver and 3 bronze medals, and several personal bests! So happy for her.

Thank you very much

This weeks Mojo sketch: I have used this color combo a few times in the past couple of years. I don't normally like blue or orange but I love this combo, so bright and cheery. Funny, I came by it when trying to make some mismatched pics 'go' when scrapbooking awhile back and it just worked. So whenever I need a 'pick me up' I tend to go back to this combo! Now on to the card. All supplies are from Close to My Heart except the punches and cuttlebug folder. I embossed the butterfly by first stamping in orange, then overstamping with clear embossing ink and powder. The butterfly is mounted with foam squares for dimension.

Paper: Heavenly Blue, Orange, White Daisy
Stamps: Damask Tiles; Intrinsic Background; Solo t; Placement Guide; Butterfly Wings (March SOTM)
Ink: Heavenly Blue, Orange, Clear embossing ink
Clear Embossing Powder
White grosgrain ribbon

Circle Punch, Scallop Circle and Scallop border punches: SU!
Swiss Dots embossing folder

Grade 8

The Creative Scrappers sketch this week was perfect for this layout. It went together nicely and quickly, gotta love that! The title is on foam squares. I stamped and embossed the 8. Pattern and colored paper: SEI, Black Orchid
Cardstock: Black and White Daisy (CTMH)
Stamps: Journalling Jots; Classmate Alphabet, Solo 8, September Word Puzzle (CTMH)
Ink: Archival Black (CTMH)

Camera Challenged!

So Jason has taken Danica out of town for a track meet and asked if he could take 'our' camera (really it is mine, I say my camera! lol). Hesitantly I said ok, knowing that I could use Jaimee's to take pics of my creations this weekend (and I plan on doing lots!). My first try with Jaimee's camera and I can't seem to get the pics to download! How frustrating. Not so bad, but of course Jaimee is gone all day with a friend and I won't see her until 10:30 tonight! So check back tomorrow, hopefully I will have something figured out by then!

A Wish Came True

This is my final page from our Japan trip. I will do one page that is all journalling and such but all the pics have been done. I used a sketch from 52 Sketches. Not one of my favorite layouts - I think because of the blue and yellow - not my favorite colors! Also I have been into patterned paper lately so I think this one is just lacking some 'oomph'. Oh well, not fretting here. Most supplies are from CTMH. The title is on foam squares, some of the stars have been 'Stickled' while the yellow ones are glittered. Tokyo

Here is a layout I did last night. One more page and I am finished the Japan pages! We had a great (but very hot) couple of days in Tokyo. I don't mind visiting, but I certainly couldn't live there! Behind one of the pictures is a hidden journalling tag. The sentiment 'tag' is from Heidi Swapp. The flowers are cut out of design paper and then mounted with foam squares. Pattern Paper: Me & My Big Ideas
Cardstock: Baby pink, Black, Gray Wool, Tulip and White Daisy (CTMH)
Cricut: Plantain Schoolbook

Nothing new tonight

Nothing new to show you tonight. I just got home. Jaimee has been sick - temperature and sleeping basically since Sunday. I took her up to get checked out. She has bronchitis as well as a viral infection. Poor girl. Probably no school at all this week.

Also, I did make some cute little Valentine's for the students in my class but for some reason my Photoshop program keeps freezing up on me so I can't download any pictures. So frustrating!

New Kimonos

I used a sketch from 52 Sketches. I love this paper from Me & My Big Ideas worked perfectly with this photo. Jaimee and her friend bought themselves a kimono and wore them on our shopping day in Tokyo. I tried to talk them out of it - re: not practical, etc. They had made up their mind and I am glad they did. They looked adorable!Patterned Paper: Me & My Big Ideas

Tokyo

I used a sketch from Pencil Lines for this page. Not a lot to this page. I LOVE this photo that I took as it has Jaimee in her kimono along with her friends. One of my favorite photos from our trip. I spotlighted the title on the photo and adhered it with a foam square. Patterned Paper: Love Letters (Little Yellow Bicycle)
Cardstock: Red (Little Yellow Bicycle); Black, Gray Wool (CTMH)
Stickers: Love Letters (Little Yellow Bicycle)
Chipboard bracket: unknown
silver eyelets (CTMH)

Done with Unforgettable!

This is my final 'Unforgettable' layout for Jaimee's Japan pictures. We move on to Tokyo next so I will move on to some hip/modern papers! Abashiri is where we stayed with our homestays so we made some great friends and had a lot of fun. This is a Page Maps sketch. A detail shot to show where the hidden journalling is - darn I forgot to print it on cardstock, off to do that now!

Another interactive page. Great way to fit more pics on a page.
Stamps: Journalling Jots; Whimsy Uppercase and Lowercase (both CTMH); Ledger me (CHF)

Proud mom moment!

Nothing creative to post tonight, too busy. I do, however, have some good news. The BC Athletics list just came out for 2008. Danica was in the top 10 (for all 10 year old girls in our province), in 3 events!!! wow, I am a happy mom!!!

Hi

I finally did another 2 Sketches 4U card. Michael's had their paper packs on at 30% off, I really stocked up! Even better than stocking up is that I am actually using them right away! This is a simple card. The paper is Amy Butler by Making Memories. The flower is on foam squares. I also paper pieced parts of the flower for dimension. I then used Celery Shimmerz over top. This is also my submission into the Flourishes Challenge, to use a flourish on a card.
Some detail:
Paper: Amy Butler - (K& Company)
Cardstock: Gray Wool, Black (CTMH)
Thickes Flourish (American Crafts)
Puffy Letters (Making Memories)
Shimmerz: (All that Scraps)
gems: (CTMH)
