So I bought this shirt a few days ago. I'm not sure why, I have always hated orange, peach and yellow, but I thought it was pretty. I also thought it would make a nice color combo for some cards (tomorrow scrapbooking for sure!!!). I used Beate's sketch (WSC50 on SCS) and came up with this card first. I used the Dimensional Element Flowers from CTMH, some ribbon that I have had forever and the stamp sets: Say it with Style and Spot On Background.
Colors: Orange, Taffy, Sunkiss Yellow

More blabbing!
Well, no mojo last night to do any cards or anything. I spent the day at a school track meet (like I haven't been to enough lately!) - lucky for me Danica goes to the same school that I teach at so I got to watch her again. She excelled again. They were allowed 3 events and Danica did the 800m, 1500m and long jump. She got first by a long way in both running events and third in the long jump. So many people were coming up to me saying "Your daughter is a superstar!" I have to agree! Makes a mom proud!

I've been tagged
Vicki tagged me so here goes.
The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.
1. Ten years ago:-
My Jaimee was turning 3 (June 28) and Danica was born a few months before (Feb). So honestly, I don't remember much except that I was a very busy tired mom!
2. 5 things in todays to do list.
Today at work I made arrangements so I could help out at the school track meet (no I haven't been to enough lately!). Then I have a parent teacher meeting. Next must take kids down to a park to meet dad as they are all going on the 'Big Bike' together - my job to take photos. Next on the to do list is after supper, I have to get some empty coffee cans ready for this weekend's tag days. Then I need to get some school artwork ready, finally if there is time, I would like to make a card.
3. Snacks I enjoy:-
Quite honestly, I love dipping my graham wafers in my tea as I am sitting there relaxing after work!
4. Things I would do if I were a Millionaire:-
I would pay off our mortgage, put enough money away for the kids to get a good start to their life, go on a trip (or two!), buy something nice for my parents and finally, get some new bedroom furniture - ours is embarrassing!!!
5. Places I have lived:-
I was born in Port Alberni, moved down to Victoria to start University. Hopped over to Vancouver to go to University there. After university got married and moved to Castlegar. Then 5 1/2 years ago we moved back to Port Alberni. So I haven't made 5 yet unless I count dorm rooms and appartments!
I am now tagging Jena, Jo and anyone else who wants to join in.

Thank you Vicki
#1 Dad
I am not sure who to thank for this card but Sarsparilla was one paper pack I didn't need until I saw so much great artwork with it on the CTMH BBs. I think Jenn's card put me over the edge! So the paper pack and my Dimensional Elements Monograms arrived tonight and I just had to play! I used this weeks SCS sketch challenge. I love how it turned out (except for my goof on the 'A') - hubby will never notice, I'll say the kids did it if he does!!!LOL. I used waxy flax for the stitching and hemp for the other items. All supplies except buttons (thank you Eulanda), are CTMH.
Stamps: Tiny Typewriter, solo 1, Weathered Backgrounds
Paper: Sarsparilla level 2
chocolate waxy flax, hemp, buttons and metal charm

Can I brag???
Well I have to say we had a GREAT weekend. Both kids did well. It was nice to see Jaimee taking part rather than just be a spectator. Since she just joined she hadn't practiced many events so she only felt comfortable competing in 2 of the events. She did awesome. She got a 3rd in the 800m and the discus throw (never even practiced it!). We were proud of her for going out and trying. She can't wait now to try some other events! Way to go Jaimee!
Danica did very well again too. She got a first in the 800m, breaking her old time and reaching her goal of breaking 3minutes. She did it in 2:59! Then, another great accomplishment when she did high jump. Last year she did not really grasp what to do and could never get over 0.85m, this meet she jumped 1.05m to get a 2nd! We are so proud. The second day was a Pentathlon, it is a a 5 event run, jump and throw. Now Danica has always excelled at the long distance run and did ok in the other events but not well. She has really come into her own this year. After a second long, tiring day of events, Danica came in third for total points in the Pentathlon! We are so proud of her. In fact, our Alberni Valley girls placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 9th out of all the girls competing. Jason (my hubby who was the only coach there this weekend) says it was because of the coaching!

We're off again.
We are leaving for Victoria again for another track meet. Danica and Jaimee will both be competing. I guess Jaimee figured 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'. She has to come anyways so why not join track and go in some events. We'll see how she does! I won't be posting anything until at least Monday. Have a good weekend!
Just for You Cupcakeabella

Out of My Box!
This card is so out of my box, I struggle with collage type cards. I used this weeks SCS sketch challenge. A few embellishments from unknown sources and the spiral punch from SU!, otherwise all CTMH. To make the large butterfly I used the wipe and swipe technique on glossy paper and then overstamped with stazon ink.
Stamps: Journalling Jots, Air Mail, solo J, Butterfly Kisses, Decorative Dainties
Colors: Bamboo, Smokey Plum, Black, Colonial White
Inks: Desert Sand, Gray Wool, Black, Smokey Plum
Reinkers: Sunny Yellow, Orange, Hollyhock

Some more track pics
This is Danica on her way to a gold medal in the 800m race. This is the first lap, her lead just grew bigger in the second lap!
Jaimee is such a good big sister. She came with us to the meet this past weekend. After a day of shopping on Saturday she had to hang out at the track meet all day on Sunday. Kinda boring for her, but she was great! Cheering on her little sis and praising her efforts. Way to go Jaimee!
Look what I got!!!
What a happy mail day for me! I received this awesome package from Jenn D (see my sidebar for her blog). She won one of my challenges awhile back and this is what she sent as a thank you! The card is superb, love the icing and the gem for the cherry, I also love the Bella. Then 2 packages of rubons, a pack of little flowers and ribbon. See all of that yummy ribbon! Thank you, thank you, thank you Jenn you have made my day! Can't wait to have time to play with all of the stuff.
Simple Thank You card
This card was totally cased from a fellow CTMH consultant (Christine Adams) - only she used slightly different stamps and didn't have a button middle. I have been too busy to get creative in my scraproom lately, I miss my scraproom! I have a gathering on Wednesday night and needed an easy project. This card totally fit the bill, so simple and so effective. All supplies are CTMH
Stamps: Say it in Style (May SOTM), Delight in Everything, With Love (June SOTM)
Paper: Baby Pink, Black and White Daisy
Ink: Baby Pink and Black
Clear buttons with paper adhered to back with liquid glass.

Another great meet
Well we are back after a busy weekend. The weather was nice but windy so we had to be bundled up. Danica did extremely well again. She got a gold medal in the 800m and 1500m race (by far!) and a silver medal in the 60m hurdles and the javelin, as well as a personal best and 6th place in high jump. We had a wonderful time, and of course the bit of shopping at Lululemon helped too!

Gone again
This is going to be another track meet weekend. This time we are away to Victoria BC, at least I will get some shopping in! So I won't be on here and posting anything until at least Tuesday! You know I love spring, I love this time of year, I love watching my kids in their sports but I do hate that I am rarely in my craftroom anymore! That is where I regroup after the day and wind down.

Jinxed myself!!!
I guess I spoke too soon this morning! The rain didn't last very long and then the sun came out. I had already cleaned the house, started the laundry and then headed out for some errands. I so wanted to get into the scraproom for the afternoon, but just couldn't do it with my flower beds looking so yucky! After 2 hours of weeding and 3 wheelbarrow full of weeds (and I'm only halfway done!), my back was killing me and I was done. I just got back from my nightly hour walk, so I'm going to try to make a card, not enough mojo to finish the layout. Although, I really just feel like sitting and having my green tea and heading off to bed. We'll see what happens.
Doing the Happy Dance!!!
I just noticed on the Bellaholics site that I am the winner for the Bella Babe challenge. Woo-hoo! The other reason I'm doing the happy dance is because it is raining. Since we were busy with track all weekend, and my gardens look horrendous, today was supposed to be my weeding day. Well it is raining, can't weed, I guess I just have to play in my scraproom instead!
And the winner is....
Congratulations Vicki, your card is beautiful. Lots of beautiful pink (I love that) and the large flower is perfect. Thanks for playing. Now I just need your address to mail off your gift. You can email me at: laurelseabrook@shaw.ca

Track meet time
Well sorry I haven't been posting much this weekend. As you can see we have been busy. Danica had another track meet this weekend. We are so proud of her, she is doing awesome. There are 11 girls in her age group from all over Vancouver Island. Danica places quite well in all events but shines in the 800m and 1500m races where she always places first! On top of that she got a lot of personal bests in the other events. That's our Danica!

SCS174 Sketch Challenge
May Bella Babe Challenge
This months Bella Babe contest challenge is to use the colors: Orange, Ocean and Citrus Leaf. So not colors that I normally use but I love it! I stitched the paper strips on to look like ribbon. Bellas boots, belt, heart, headband and billboard have glitter on them. Baubles are glued onto the scallops.
