Ugly Sweaters....

I had fun with this one. I used the Ugly Sweater stamp set with the 'Tis the Season papers and Complements.

I really wanted the sweaters to stand out so I stayed with a white base, but you know me... I like my layers so I added a smaller panel of white as well.

Now if you note the stamp set, the sweater is a solid stamp (honestly I prefer outline stamps so you have the option of pattern paper or coloring). Anyways not to be deterred.... I just stamped the sweaters on the back of the pattern papers that I wanted to use. I then cut them out and decorated with stickers, stamps and of course some pearls

The bow on the middle sweater is fussy cut from some of the pattern paper as well. I then mounted the sweaters on foam squares. I used the Falala die as well.

As a final touch I sprinkled some of the Silver sequins here and there.

Falala

I don't know why... but I am always surprised at how many different cards and looks you can get from one paper pack. Once again I am using the 'Tis the Season paper and Complements.

More fussy cutting on this one. I cut the journaling spot out of the pattern paper. I then trimmed some of the red glitter paper that comes in the Complements and added it to the ends.

The bough was fussy cut from the pattern paper. To add some interest, I added some Liquid Glass here and there on some berries, although it is hard to tell in the photos. I then mounted it on foam squares and added the clip and die cut sentiment

As a final touch I adhered some of the Red Pearls. And easy card. I am working hard at not going all out like I usually do (you know... lots of layers and stitching) as I am holding a card class using the 'Tis the Season pack and I want to enable not scare the new comers :)

Dear Santa...

So excited to be creating for Christmas.... I LOVE Christmas and Santa!

See those numbers in the back.... they are the Chipboard Monogram Numbers from CTMH! I covered them with our Red Glitter Paper now I have to wait before I can put them up....

I then created this fun card... I had to use that little tag in the 'Tis the Season collection. I used a glitter star from the Complements to mark off which one - adhering with a Glue Dot. The red strip paper is from the collection - I just used a punch to create a notebook look to it.

I stamped and paper pieced the Santa from the Oh What Fun Stamp and die set. he is then mounted with foam circles. I then added some die cut snowflakes using the Winter Flurries die.

Warmest Christmas Wishes....

I played with my 'Tis the Season papers and stuff again. I have a card class coming up in November and I want to show how many different ways the kit can be used!

First up, I created this quick and easy card. I cut the journaling card from the pattern paper and then just trimmed it down to fit the card front. I wrapped some of the White burlap ribbon around, adhered it to the card front then stapled and tied a bow.

Next, I adhered the sticker from the Complements set to some scrap cardstock (I like die cuts better than stickers myself), cut it out then mounted on foam circles. For more interest I just added some of the Red Pearls here and there.

Next up this one was fun to create... lots of fussy cutting and foam circles... I like that :) I was trying to create a fireplace scene so I mounted a strip of the red paper on foam strips for some dimension and the look of a mantle. I then fussy cut some of the boughs from the pattern paper and adhered to the mantle.

I stamped the sentiment from the 'Tis the Season Cardmaking stamp set where the 'fire' would be and thought the 'warmest wishes' stamp set worked well here.

Next I fussy cut some of the stockings from the pattern paper, added clips and mounted with foam circles. As a final touch I just tied a bit of twine.

One thing I hope to teach my participants.... it's ok to fussy cut images from the pattern paper! Once I started doing this years ago... my card making really became fun ;)

Inspired By thermoses

The new Inspired By challenge is up and for me... it is such a cozy one... so many memories tied to that image!

This card is in no way how I started with the inspiration - well sort of is... I used the black and white plaid but it kind of went away after that. The thermoses reminded me of getting wood with my family when I was a child. We would all head out for the day, have a picnic with our friends while my dad and his friends cut wood. So that is where the 'forest' paper came from...

I then decided to go with a coffee/hot chocolate theme and it changed to winter :)

I used the black plaid paper from the Hello Pumpkin collection. I then mixed it with the Oh What Fun paper pack and came up with this fun card.

I cut the cup using my Silhouette and the sentiment is from the September SOTM. I then added some snowflakes using the Winter Flurries Thin Cuts, and as a final touch die cut some mittens and stitched them for interest.

Now here is the inspiration photo.... come on over and play!

Ho Ho Ho - Another take on Sketchy Saturday

I had to create another card using my Sketchy Saturday sketch... this time I decided to create a Christmas themed one.

I used the 'Tis the Season collection by CTMH.

I just layered pieces of the pattern paper. When I got to the 'chalkboard' paper I wanted it to a little distressed so I used a dauber and inked the edges with some white daisy ink. I like the softness it adds.  I then added some snowflakes from the Complements pack

I then stamped and die cut the little Santa using the Oh What Fun Cardmaking stamp and die set.  I mounted him on foam circles for some dimension.

Those fun letters... they are from the December SOTM... teasing... I know!

Just a reminder on the sketch
