Back to School Coupon Book

I was up on the SRM Stickers Blog the other day but I thought I would post it here too.

A couple of years ago I made my husband a 'Date a Month' coupon book for our anniversary.  Included with each month was a date and the money to pay for it (dinner, weekend away, lunch, etc).  My oldest daughter really liked it and said she wanted one.  Well in preparation of her heading off to University in the fall I decided to make her a monthly coupon book.  We all know that students don't have a lot of extra cash so each month I have included something fun for her (pre paid Visa, movie tickets, restaurant gift certificate, etc).  I have been slowly filling the book and have just a few months left to fill before I give it to her in September.  To create the book I used some kraft cardstock from Studio Calico and the Paper & Glue Collection by Echo Park.  The school themed stickers were perfect for adding some extra little details.  I used the Calendar Month Small- Sleek to label each month and then added little extra bits from the Express Yourself - School and the Express Yourself - High School sets.  Finally, as always some twine from The Twinery adds a nice finishing touch.

Altered Wooden Summer Memory Box

I am up on the Echo Park Blog with my last Summer Camp project.  I created a summer memory box and had no sooner had it finished when Danica scooped it up and put it to use as a place to keep some of her mementos from the summer!  I used the Beautiful Life collection by Echo Park along with my Cricut, Silhouette, a Technique Tuesday stamp, some SRM Stickers, May Arts twine and ribbon and Elle's Studio tags.

For complete instructions, hop on over to the Echo Park blog and find out how  you can download the instructions for FREE!

Tricks & Treats

Just before I broke into my new stuff I thought I would use up more of the 'old stuff'.  Today I have 3 cards that I created using the Tricks & Treats by Pebbles.  I really love this collection, my favorite is the yellow - love that yellow!

For this one I used my Silhouette to cut out the cat, the twine is from May Arts.

A banner made from some of the pieces in the pattern paper.

For this card I wrapped the base with some Black Net ribbon by May Arts.  I have also used some of the Pebbles Washi Tape.  The circle elements are punched from a piece of the pattern paper.

Project Life Week 33

Welcome to the Unity Blog Hop. You should have started at Andrea's blog, if not you may want to head over there and visit all of the blogs, there is a prize up for grabs.

For my project this week, I decided to use a number of SMAK kits on my Project Life pages.  I love stamping directly onto my photos, so quick and easy.  I have used 6 different SMAK sets on these pages (the current August kit You Can Do Anything, Celebrate the Good Times, Epic Moments, Summer Lovin' and My Banner Life) along wiht the What I know KOTM and the All Day Pass set.  I had fun creating these pages with the Midway Collection by October Afternoon.

The ferris wheel in this month's SMAK kit was a perfect accent for my photos this week!

I love the different looks of my husband and daughter on the ride - made me giggle!

Have you signed up to receive the SMAK kits yet?  I love using the SMAK kits in my scrapbooking, they add the perfect finishing touch.  Click on the photo below to be taken to the Unity site and find out more.

Don’t forget to leave a comment on all the participating blogs.  Three random comments from various blogs (including this one) will be chosen to receive a $20 gift certificate to Unity stamps!!!

It is our Anniversary!

21 years ago we said "I do" and we have not looked back.  Of course there have been bumps along the way and we have been through a lot but we have done it all together.  So I thought it would be a good day to share my last Elle's Studio post for this month.  For this layout I used a number of different goodies from the You and Me Collection (for more specifics, you can check out the Gallery) along with a SMAK stamp from Unity, a Silhouette cut, Two Peas veneer and some Divine Twine.  The date stamp is from Pebbles and finally I punched out a some vellum hearts and confetti.

With Sympathy

I shared one of my SRM Stickers cards here the other day and I thought I would share this one today.  Once again I have used the Kate & Company Cambridge Court collection by My Mind's Eye along with a SRM Sticker.  The sketch and paper pack is the same as the card I posted the other day but such different looks.  I used my Cricut to cut out the vellum roses.

Chilled Cucumber Soup cards.

I am up on the Jillibean Soup Blog today with a couple of cards for Cards On Monday.  I used my all time favorite Jillibean collection Chilled Cucumber Soup - LOVE! along with some of the Kraft tags, a Wise word and I cut a frame from the Placemat.

On this first card I stamped the Grid Background stamp from Unity on the tags then wrapped with some twine.

For this card I used a piece of clear scrapbooking refill pages (I have a few that got bent and I won't use for my albums) to create a pocket with the Placemat frame, I then filled it with sequins and punched circles before sewing along the top.  The sun is cut with my Silhouette.

Now be sure to head on over to the Jillibean Soup Blog to see what the rest of the Designers have created.

My Mind's Eye and SRM

I have a couple of cards up on the SRM Blog today.  Both use the same sketch and paper pack but have such different looks!  I have one of them here for you today.

For this second card I used the We've Got Your Sticker - Hello (#53002) to create a Just Because Card.  I love how the round sentiments fit perfectly inside these metal rimmed tags that I picked up at an office supply store.

Other products used: Paper: My Mind's Eye;  Ribbon & twine: May Arts

A Little Birdie Told Me

It is time for another Be Inspired challenge over at Unity and I LOVE this month's inspiration colors!

For my card I have used a few different Pebbles Collections.  The woodgrain paper is from Walnut Grove, the yellow paper is Tricks & Treats and the rest is from Seen & Noted.  I thought the journal card was perfect for this Fall For You Unity stamp set, don't you just love that little bird.  The little enamel dots are from My Mind's Eye and the twine is from May Arts.

Now here are the inspiration photos you can choose to play along with any of them.  Like I said I love the colors so I went with that one for this month.  To play along click on the photo.

Pizza Party

I am up on the Jillibean Soup Blog today.  I used the Fresh Vegetable Soup collection along with some SRM Stickers to create this Pizza Party themed gift basket.  I thought it would make a great gift for new homeowners or someone just moving out on their own.  I have pre-cut all the makings for a pizza (meat, mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers) and included some spices and cheese along with some pre made pizza shells, a pizza plate and a pizza cutter.  This way the recipients just have simply assemble and cook.

I had saved the jars and they were easily upcycled by spray painting the lids and then adding the paper.

The SRM Clear Tubes were perfect for some spices, parmesan cheese and diced peppers then wrapped with twine and a sticker added to the top. Hint: to hold the twine in place, adhere at the back with a Mini Glue Dot then wrap and tie.

It all started when I purchased this plate from a Thrift Store.  I  then dug out one of my garage sale baskets and spray painted it red.

Now be sure to head on over to the Jillibean Soup Blog to see what the other designers have create for you!
