When Life Gives You Lemons...

I am up on the Echo Park Blog today with another upcycled project.  I love creating themed gift baskets and this one started with the lemon pie plate that I purchased at a Thrift shop last year.  I have been on the lookout for lemon themed items ever since.  I thought this would make a good 'Get Well' or 'When Life Gives You Lemons' kind of gift basket.  On gift giving day I would include some fresh lemons along with a homemade lemon loaf.

The Yellow Submarine Mini Theme was perfect for creating the accents for this theme!

I used my Preserves Cricut cartridge to cut out the lemon items.  I have also used some SRM Stickers, Papertrey Ink stamps (Friendship Jar and Friendship Jar additions) and some Lemon Divine Twine.

Project Life Week 16

I kept my pages very basic this week as I usually work on them Sunday morning so that I have all day if I want it (I usually only take a few hours).  However, this week I Jason and I were on a getaway for the weekend, so when I got back today I had to clean, do laundry and get caught up before tackling my photos.  I used my Story Teller collection by Crate Paper along with a number of different stamps from Technique Tuesday.

I used an insert page for some of the photos of the West Coast getaway.

Be You

I really wanted to play along with the Fusion challenge and when my Chilled Cucumber Soup papers by Jillibean Soup arrived I knew they would be perfect, (even though the challenge is over)  I also used the Wise Words along with a Technique Tuesday stamp (Simply You) and some Divine Twine.  The butterfly punch is a Martha Stewart one.

Now I am late for the challenge but here is my inspiration, I used both the sketch and colour challenge.

Welcome to another Inspiration Elevator reveal! We are thrilled to celebrate the end of our first year of Inspiration Elevator challenges and are anticipating that the second year will see that creative growth continue to go UP! To celebrate our first anniversary and our fabulous designers, Christa and Ann decided to challenge our designers to take an in-depth look at a fellow designer's artistic portfolio via her blog, choose elements from that designers creations, and incorporate them into her
own work. In other words, we are encouraging a scrapLIFT! Rather than a mere copy of someone else’s work, this is a stylistic scraplift that should inspire each designer to grow creatively as she is inspired, yet remain true to her own style.
Asthe second year of this creative journey begins, and as the popularity of Inspiration Elevator increases, we have created a new blog for our Inspiration Elevator Challenges. So, if you want to play along you can find the challenges and links to the inspiration all in one place! To celebrate our first year, our hopping will incorporate RAKs along the way – how exciting! Now, before you go hopping along, we want to let you know of a few
personnel changes.

While, we are so excited to welcome back most of our original design team members for year two, we are saddened to be saying goodbye to Audrey Yeager. Audrey has creatively embraced every challenge over the past year, and has been a super part of our design team over the past 12 months. We hope your will continue to stop by her blog and see her gorgeous creations. Thank you Audrey for sharing our journey – we are grateful for you!

We are very pleased to announce a new member to our design team. Join us as we welcome Jodi Wilton. Jodi's design style is happy and whimsical and we are looking forward to sharing this new year of growth with her and seeing how her creative muse is tickled by our challenges.

We mentioned RAKs or giveaways at each designer’s blog this month, since we’re celebrating our first year. Please read each designer’s instructions regarding the giveaway as they will vary. We will post a final list of winners on April 24th on the Inspiration Elevator blog, so be sure to pop back, and if you create something based on this month’s challenge, please link it up on the blog!

I loved looking through Laura's blog, as she is so talented.  If you haven't been by her blog before, you should go!  When I saw this layout, I was drawn to the hand stitching and new that is what I wanted to challenge myself to do.  I sew on my layouts all of the time, but with a machine, not by hand.

For my layout today I used the new Trendsetter collection by Fancy Pants along with a number of different Unity stamps, my Cricut a button from A Flair for Buttons and some twine.

Here is the hand stitching that Laura inspired me to do.  I used some May Arts twine.

And a close up of the stamping, button and cricut flowers.  The polaroid cut is from the Jillibean Soup Placemats.

I was inspired by this sketch on the Fancy Pants blog:

I have some Core'dinations paper up for grabs for you today.  All as you have to do is leave a comment telling me what you want to try on your next layout that would make you step out of your box and challenge you and then be sure to leave a comment on the Inspiration Elevator Blog at the end of the Hop.

Inspired By #70

You have until tomorrow night to play along with this week's Inspired By challenge.

I went with the colors and flowers to create this sassy card.  I used myFamily Ties collection by Pebbles along with a couple of  Unity stamps and a Cricut Die cut.  The lines under her feet, 'shadow lines' have been stitched.

Spring

I am up on the Jillibean Soup Blog today.  I have created a spring themed card out of our Country Pumpkin Chowder mixed with a bit of Coconut Lime Soup.  I cut the sentiment with my Silhouette.

Now be sure to head on over to the Jillibean Soup blog to see what the rest of the DT have created today.
