Pretty in Pink Baby

2nd post for today!

The sketch this week from Sketch Girl: I took in lots of challenges with this simple card. The challenge for today at 365 Card Challenge Pretty in Pink. I also incorporated the Pile it On Challenge - Round - to incorporate anthing round (spots, dots, circles...) and the ABC Challenge - C is for Circles. Wow, all of that on a simple card! I used my Scor-Pal to score some lines along the top of the card.

Belle

The sketch this week from The Scrappiest This sketch had me stumped for a bit, then I came across this picture of Belle our cat who disappeared last November (I think a cougar got her). I started out using my Scarlet Lime kit but then ended up using the Just Chillin Papers from Making Memories. I cut the flowers out with my Sizzix and I freehanded the heart.

A good week!

I just found out that I was one of Lauren's Top 5 in one of her My Times Challenges. Now what an honor! Lauren is soooo.... uber talented, to be picked by her feels so good. The project that made it for her top 5 was my Fresh Baked container, you can see it here.

Wow, now I just saw that I made the Top 3 at Pile it On (thanks Alanna for letting me know). What a great start to my week!

American Crafts Layout and Card

The Creative Scrappers Sketch: I got this American Crafts Scrapbooking Kit from Peachy Cheap and it arrived Friday. I couldn't wait to use it! These papers suit these girls so much. Danica and her friend (both great Track athletes, which is how they met), are like 2 peas in a pod! Silly, full of energy, crafty and just plain ol' enjoy life kind of girls! Love that!

This is also for the One Little Word Challenge - beauty.
All Supplies on the layout are from the kit! ETA Danica took this picture herself of her and her friend, I love it!

The Sketch from Unscripted Sketches this week. I used the kit to make a card too. Of course there is still LOTS left! Everything is American Crafts except the stamp (CTMH).

Look what we got!!!

This is my third post today so be sure to scroll down.

Last night we went to pick up our puppy. We had the choice of three girls and we decided on this little sweetie! She is a Chocolate Lab and I think her name is going to be Sadie.

My Dream

The sketch this week from 52 Sketches. I flipped the sketch and only used 1 picture but the idea is still there. I did this for the Scrapping Out Loud Challenge - I have a dream.

I wanted to use some of the Sabrina paper while it was still out. I also dug out some retired CTMH paper and was surprised to find this map of Europe which was perfect. To highlight my theme even more I sewed under the word 'France' on the pattern paper and stamped a circle on the travel tag around the word Paris. I was in France in grade 12 (ummmm about 24 years ago!) and I so want to go back!

Detail shot of the circle stamped around the word.

I got to play with some new goodies again, yay!

Enjoy the Moment

The sketch this week from Card Patterns. Michelle is such a talented sketch designer, always fabulous to use! We are sponsered this week by Sherrod Studio, come on over and play along. The designers did an amazing job with the sketch this week! I still had my Scarlet Lime kit out so I used it for this sketch as well. My favorite paper in the pack is the butterfly page, so many butterflies there for fussy cutting, so fun!!!

Chic Celebrate Today

The sketch from Clean & Simple today. I don't normally do these type of sketches - too symmetrical for me! However, I was dying to use the Chandelier on the Home Decor Cartridge (Cricut) so I played around and I like how it turned out. I love it with the Sabrina paper so chic! This is also for the Caardvarks challenge, black, white and pink - my favorite color combo even though I am not a girlie girl - pink is my favorite color! I think I will enter this in the Pile it On Challenge too - three papers, three gems, three minutes (just kidding, it took about 10)!

YUM

The sketch this week from 2 Sketches 4 You:I made this card for the 365 Card Challenge - Going Vintage.

For my card I wanted the strip to mimic an old apron. I sewed a bit of fabric down the edge of the paper strip and did some funky zig zagging - like the apron had been mended a few times. I used some Unity stamps to stamp on the background October Afternoon paper -and I lightly added a bit of color with my copics. The cupcake was made with the Cricut Home Decor (love this, lots of fun images that I just need to play with!). The cherry is actually cut out of the OA paper and painted with Shimmerz. I also scented the card with Cupcake Card Scent. YUM!

Be the Change

The sketch this week from Get Sketchy is a fun one! Not only that be we are sponsered by Clip it Up! I am sure you have ribbon in your possession that needs to be organized, I know I do! Come on over to Get Sketchy and play along for your chance to win a Ribbon Organizer! What a prize! I could sure use one! For my card I used my Scarlet Lime kit again. These papers just make me happy! I stamped the background flowers with some Close to My Heart Stamps and ink. The sentinment is a rub on from Pink Paislee, I love quote sentiments. I painted the large butterfly with some Shimmerz.

Clean and Simple cards

Here is the sketch this week from Clean & Simple - yes I found another challenge blog! I'm getting kind of hooked on the clean and simple. I have always loved the look when others did it, but never really liked mine. They go together so quickly, I am beginning to like mine too! LOL! These are for the Moxie Fab Challenge, Clean and Simple and for the Pile it On Challenge, I have used 3 papers and 3 snowflakes on the first card and 3 buttons on the second card.

This one uses all supplies from Close to My Heart. The new Jingle paper is so refreshing, something different than the usual red and green. The sentiment is also a new stamp set. Available September 1st.
This is another Kraft card. Clean and simple and Kraft just seem to go for me! I used the same sketch.

So many challenges...

So many fun challenges out there, so little time! I combined four on this card. First is this weeks sketch from Card Positioning Systems. I also incorporated the Caardvarks challenge of Black, White and Hot Pink. Finally, the 365 Card Challenge today is to have a checkerboard background paper. I think this also qualifies for this weeks Pile it On challenge - Threes - I used three colors! Now I'm off to add one more pearl, LOL! Yay, a quadrupule play!!!

Nugget Tin Day!

This is my second post for today, so be sure to scroll!

Still coming up with more uses for these tins. I couldn't forget about my 'coffee' friends! I thought this would make a cute little thank you for someone. The beans inside are rootbeer and cappucino flavored jelly beans.... YUMMY! The coffee cup stamp is from There She Goes, I stamped it onto white cardstock, the back of a Starbucks cup wrap and some Crate Paper green paper. Of course I had to add a couple of critters, I cut them out of some pattern papers. The mug is mounted with foam squares. I scented the tag with Cappuccino Card Scent. Cardstock: Close to My Heart Stamps: There She Goes, Embossing Arts

I have been making so many baby girl things I decided to try a baby boy item! I also wanted another use for the tins. I love how this turned out! All supplies are from Close to My Heart except tin and handprint stamp. No I did not take the picture, I found it on the internet, I only cropped it and added the lettering to it. I will one day try and get my own! Here are what the cards look like:

The inside of the cards:

Tea Tins

I posted one of these earlier in the week and promised to share more. Here are the three I made on Sunday... I could have made a dozen, they are so easy and quick!
I thought these little gifts would be good when someone is feeling run down with a cold or flu.

Used some NEW Amy Butler papers from K & Company! LOVE this paper pack! Stamps are from Papertrey Ink, There She Goes and Close to My Heart.

A very simple 'clean' set. Cardstock is from Close to My Heart (Desert Sand, Olive, Sweet Leaf)

Finally the Friend set I posted on Sunday.

QUICK card!!!

I am heading out of town for some school shopping and am just waiting for Danica to wake up. Rather than sit and blog I went downstairs to see what I could whip up real quick. This was a VERY quick card! I used my Scor-pal to score the edge of the card. Stamped the image and cut out. Added a tiny bit of Stickles to his nose, a ribbon and a couple of sparkle dots. Can't get much easier than that. I'll enter it in the Moxie Fab Clean and Graphic Challenge! Cardstock: Close to My Heart (Desert Sand, White Daisy) Stamp: Christmas Melodies
Ink: Tulip Sparkle dots (Stampingbella)

Feel Better Blend

The sketch this week from Unscripted Sketches: For my card, I used up some scraps of My Mind's Eye and my trusty Papertrey Ink stamp.
For the inside of the card I stamped on vellum (the Practical Scrappers Challenge) using my There She Goes stamp set. A great way to make a tea bag holder!

Grandma layout and a toot!

This is my third post for today so be sure to scroll down to catch all of the good news and fun!

Practical Scrappers challenge this week is vellum. I am sure there are many of you, like me who have some of this in your stash. Well now is the time to dig it out and use it for our challenge. I would love to see what you come up with. Hop on over to Practical Scrappers to see what the rest of the design team came up with.

For my layout, I used a sketch from The Scrappiest, I just discovered the blog and LOVE their sketches. You should take a look.
I have had this colored vellum in my stash for at least 10 years and was finally challenged to use it! I have used my clear vellum on cards and layouts, when I stamp on it with Staz On and layer it on top of a photo, love that. Here I just used my Martha Stewart Punch and the colored vellum and made hydrangea clusters (there is a companion page for this, talking about the significance of the hydrangeas). I also dug into my SU! papers that I had been hoarding.

I have a journal tag tucked in behind the photo - telling about some memories I have of my grandma.
Pattern Paper: SU!, Amy Butler Cardstock: CTMH Lace: Webster's Pages
Vellum: Stampendous Cricut: Plantin Schoolbook Ribbon: Michael's Letter Stickers: American Crafts Punch: Martha Stewart

Now for the toot. I made it onto The Scrappiest Design Team!!! It has been hard keeping it a secret! Our first reveal is TODAY so scroll down to see what it is all about! Woo-hoo!

Grandma's Hydrangeas

This is my second layout for the Practical Scrappers Challenge. I based it on Jana's sketch. I figured while the supplies were out I might as well do the companion page. This one gives the story behind the significance of the hydrangeas. I LOVE all hydrangeas, but the blue mop head ones have a special place in my heart.

It sure feels good to use up some of that vellum, what a great challenge Christine had, thanks Christine!
The rub on is by Glitz, all other supplies are listed in the post above. Used up lots of scraps too!
Keep scrolling for more fun!

Tubing

This is my first assignment as a Designer on The Scrappiest! So exciting!!! Liz has the best sketches, check out the blog and see what all the other designers have done. I would love for you to play along. You must have guessed that eventually you would see one of these suns in my layouts! I just had to do it, it worked perfectly for the sketch and the photos! I got to play with some new stuff again, or stuff I have had but not inked up yet. I had so much fun with this one! Some items are on foam squares.

Special Friend Blend

This is Dawn's color challenge for this week: I have been trying to figure out other ways to use these tins since I have a LOT more coming! I dug out my 'tea bag holder' stamp from There She Goes and wondered if it would fit. Two side by side fit perfect! Well I have gone to town making some tea sets with different papers (I'll post the rest later on in the week). This is perfect for me because most of my friends and myself are tea drinkers. I think I will mail this to my long distance friend, we were best friends and had tea together lots when our kids were little. I moved away and of course we don't see each other often. I have not sealed the little bags, as I thought then the receiver could replace the tea bags and reuse the gift.
