Welcome to the second Inspired By Challenge. January has me feeling like I just want to stay home in my jammies and craft all day...well and perhaps nap ;) What about you?
How does this inspire you?
colors, pattern (stripe), texture (fuzzy, knit), bold text, theme....
So many different options!
Before I get to my project that was inspired from the photo... I am VERY excited to welcome my first guest designer today. The wonderfully talented Teresa Kline! I have followed her for a long time now and she continues to amaze me! Here is her gorgeous creation:
Thank you Teresa for your fabulous creation this week!
Now here is what I came up with.
Well truth be told.... I had a whole different idea in mind when I saw the inspiration. However, when I came across the Hey Mister collection by My Mind's Eye in my stash I knew it would be perfect! I created a masculine Congrats themed gift pack based on the colors in the inspiration photo.
I started out with just the card... I thought the little banner in the ephemera pack worked well as it mimics the shirt in the inspiration folder.... thus a congrats card/theme was born ;) The card was pretty simple to make. I added some items from the Mixed bag of the collection, then die cut the Congrats sentiment from kraft paper. The main image is mounted on foam squares for dimension. To carry out the theme and add more interest I used some SRM stickers... I like the stitching ones - it means I don't have to change the thread on my sewing machine... which lately takes me longer than making the actual card, thus I usually stitch with white thread... had you noticed?!
I love how these kraft beers come in a plain - ready to decorate ;) package. I just covered the front with some of the pattern paper. Then I went to work on the bottles. I covered the labels with cardstock, then added a tag to one of the bottles. Now that stamp set and coordinating die - Bubble Over - well it is a MUST if you ever create masculine items don't you think? It is only available for a short time so be sure to get it now.
I die cut the bottles then added some stamped images and of course, that Cheers die from MFT works well here. The die cut stars are slso from MFT. As you can see, I also added some SRM Stickers so that this really coordinates with the card.
I'm playing in the Little Red Wagon challenge: Boy oh Boy
Simon Says challenge: Use Pattern Paper (not really a challenge for me my challenge would be to not use it ;) )
Be sure to pick up the Bubble Over bundle... add a bit more to your order and you can get the coordinating paper for FREE!
Now, I hope you made it this far, LOL! I would love to see how you are inspired. Be sure to link up!

Neat to see how differently each artist was inspired, that is for sure! I like your masculine version and admire how you incorporated premade embellishments onto your card. They look like they are meant to be there. I think the black stitching stickers look great. (Yes, I've noticed your thread is usually white, hehe). Dressing up the beer looks awesome as well. Wonderful gift presentation! :)
Super cute creation....I love those bottle caps too! I resisted buying that set but I might have to cave! I love stitching too but am too lazy to clean off the area around my machine...does that mean I have too much "stuff"! (I think so!) Anyway, a great project all around and I hope to play this week!
this is an amazing pic...luv your taste and your card and masculine giftie is sooo cozy, perfect pair! thank you for having me, I so enjoy your style! have a wonderful weekend!
So awesome! I love everything about this....especially the congrats card. Such wonderful die cuts you used. Thanks for joining us at Little Red Wagon.
Teresa and Laurel--amazing artistry in both of your creations with the challenge photo!!! Your interpretations are opposite approaches with Teresa having a soft vague background to Laurel's bold crisp strong lines! Both are fantastic! Kudos!
