Mindful Monday - Mom..... with Felicity Jane

Welcome to the second Mindful Monday challenge.  What is Mindful Monday?  well... it is explained here, but in a nutshell, documenting simple things that just make us happy.  I think it is important to take the time to be mindful and just appreciate what we have, and the simple and amazing things that surround us in our daily lives.

With Mother's Day coming up... I decided to use the prompt of 'mom' this week...

What does that mean to you?  your mom, you as a mom, what is a special memory you have of your mom?  what is a special treasure you have that reminds you of your mom?

For me... I had to document how mom and I played a lot of games over the years... mostly Yahtzee and card games.  We spent many nights for as long as I can remember playing some sort of game.  She was patient as I learned to shuffle, patient as I learned to add in yahtzee.... and lots of chit chat happened during those times.

Since my own family moved back to our hometown, mom and I don't play as often.... thinking we need to... BUT... my kids have certainly filled those moments.  They are young adults now and they enjoy spending time with their grandma, playing cards and games.....my youngest daughter still will say, "I'm going to grandmas" even on a Friday or Saturday night...I love that!

I used the Henley Collection by Felicity Jane.... just discovered this company and I am in love!

I would love to see what this prompt inspires you to create... be sure to link up below and share the badge in your post :)

What a lovely tribute to your mom. Bet she'd love to read this. She'll be so touched. It's these little things that are not so little after all. I have similar memories of times shared with my mom. We used to play games all the time. Cribbage being one. Yahtzee another. Rummikub as well. I also remember when she and her friends would get together and play. That could get really funny, listening to them harass each other. I'm sure my love of games stems from her example. Your layout looks wonderful and that style really suits you! :)
